    Muscle memory

I've been out of the gym a year due to a new marriage, but now I'm back! Damn it sucks! How long before things picking back up for me?

I gained 40lbs back in 3 months, this is of course with a lot of nutrients. After 200 the gains slow down for me.

Strength will be back pretty quickly. I guess it depends on how out of shape you got. One year isn't enough time to do any serious damage. You should be back to your old self in a month or so.

Welcome. I can say that it depends on where you left off. What muscle fibers you have built years ago will come back to an extent in 9-12 months. Of course you will not be all the way back, but to a degree that will make you feel good about yourself. If you gained BF % of course a lot of cardio, however you will lose some body fat with training with higher intensity. But to really get back 18 months to 2 yrs. Kinda Simple Simon with intensity.

I took 25yrs. off and came back to what you see in my AV in 10 months. But you must train like a beast, as much as possible. Hang in and good luck. Go to WQ & A site with more of you Q's. ...crazy mike
