    Long time athlete...new to gear

Hey everyone. So I have a long history of being an "athlete" and just began using gear last week. Basically, I wrestled in high school, was then a member of the special operations community for several years, spent 7 years lifting on and off after that, and have been CrossFitting for the past 5 months. As far as xfit goes I am a big fan of the oly-lifting and would say I do more of that than actual crossfit wods. My clean & jerk is 260lbs, snatch is 195lbs, back-squat (ass to grass) is 375lbs, front squat is 315lbs, and deadlift is 475. I just started last week on a cycle of 200mg/wk test and 200mg/wk equipoise . I am looking to improve strength as well as physique. Body composition has always been my biggest challenge as I can merely look at food and get fat. Anyhow, that's my mini-story. I am always appreciative of good advice and discussion.

Equipoise might not be the best choice because it is known to increase appetite and if you gain weight easily it's probably not a good idea

I've definitely heard this. So far, my appetite hasn't changed much. However, I can imagine it will come on a lot stronger as my blood levels remain peaked for after a few weeks. If I were to channel the coming hunger surges into a clean diet, like paleo or Zone would that be an effective was to lean out while successfully making gains in my lifts and muscle density? I mean...I am kinda stuck with 3 vials of EQ and don't want to let it go to waste. Also, any opinions on the 200+200/wk dosing of Eq and test? I was actually thinking of doing 300+300. But since this is my first cycle ever I felt the 200+200 would be a nice way to ease into it. I definitely don't want to waste my time and money, so if 200+200 is generally thought of as a sub-standard method, by all means...somebody slap me in the face and set me on the right course. I wan't bang for my buck, but I am certainly not looking to jump into insane gains instantly. I have no problem with patience and persistence. I just want quality results that I can be proud of and that don't vanish after a week of not lifting (yeah, this happens to people in med school...timing isn't always friendly). Thanks for the responses!

Welcome from a former 3rd batt guy EQ isn't well liked here, but so that it isn't a complete loss to you post your Q in the anabolics section and I'm sure a few guys with experience using it will give you their opinions.

Just curious (as I am as newb as it gets) what is is about EQ that isn't so well liked? I kinda chose it based on my available options...its low side profile seemed attractive as an option. But by all means, dump knowledge on me. I mean...now that I've begun EQ, it seems I should follow through for the next 12 wks, but honestly, if there is something lame about it I'd rather cut my losses and start fresh with a smarter option. Thanks again for all this input so far.

Most reported that it was ineffective at anything but a high dosage and that the only noticeable effect was increased appetite. Also it needs to be run something like 16-20 weeks to see results. You're kinda stuck with it now though since you can't exactly return it so just make the most of the increased appetite and use it to your advantage.
A side note: my only experience with this drug was watching a coworker take it overseas once, EQ by itself. He was a pudgy guy to begin with and gained zero mass or vascularity but got suspiciously fast at his runs...like high 20's on a 5 miler fast...can't prove it was due to EQ but he never did that before Take it with a grain of salt

Actually, that doesn't seem so bad. I mean I have test, so the mass and strength thing should be taken care of by that...and my own intestinal fortitude of course. But if the EQ has a potential to enhance endurance and speed, well...great! As a crossfitter that is a great benefit.

Oh...I should mention that I have increased my dosing based on what I am reading in various posts. I have increased to 600/wk of each. Three times per week I pin 200mg test and 200 EQ. Yes, I am aware that sides will be more prevalent at higher doses, but 200 of each per week, based on my reading, seems inadequate at best.

Once again, I welcome any and all comments, criticisms, or advice. I am a sponge willing to soak up knowledge.

One thing I am very curious to learn is if I need to change my workouts and their duration based on these dosage changes. For instance, should I workout twice a day; should I specifically go more intense; should I simply keep the same routine and enjoy the benefits?

Oh, one more question...what nutritional supplements are found to be most beneficial on this kind of gear usage? As of now I take this supposed anti-estrogen named Erase-Pro and cinnamon/chromium in the morning, Animal Pak at lunch, BSN Amino x post-wod, and Ronnie-Coleman's Resurrect-PM and ZMA at night.

    Any suggestions, advice, or wisdom?

You should run an AI on cycle (Arimidex or aromasin ) and HCG . What type of test are you running? 200mg of Test E or C per week isn't much As for your workouts, go at the same intensity you always have. I'm into bodybuilding, limited experience with crossfit but you should definitely be able to handle 2 workouts since they only average 10-20 min I think

I'm running Test C. At 600 split up throughout the week I am feeling pretty good. It's funny, because there are some things I was not anticipating. For instance, it used to be that I would get sore two days after an intense strength workout and it would last 2 or three days. Now it seems that the soreness comes within 12 hours and lasts only a day...if that. I know that's because test enhances recovery time.

As far as xfit workout times, you are correct in that the main part of the workout is roughly 20 min, but there is no rest. There are usually three components to the whole hour-long session though. You have the warmup, which is often never completed without sweat dripping from your face, then the main workout, which is usually intense enough to meet pukie if you ate too soon before-hand (this of course has to do with how much intensity you bring to it), then there is the finisher, which usually consists of some sort of strength/mobility development. By the end of the hour you are laying on the floor. Let's put it this way, it's the closest thing to getting smoked all day long as a cherry in Batt I have found. We also do a LOT of olympic lifting. Anyhow, I will definitely take your advice and consider an AI. I am hesitant on HCG because it weirds me out thinking about taking a "hormone of pregnancy". But if you or anyone else has found it to be beneficial and worth the effort, please school me.

Thanks again for all the info.

    Good article on HCG here
HCG: Why you should use it on-cycle only & how to prepare your hCG for injections

At 600mg test cyp weekly you'll get some mild gyno if you're prone to it so an ai is definitely a good idea. I always hated crossfit lol it is like getting smoked and those early days were some of the worst in my life...makes a man out of you though and that's the point. Good luck
