Learning and Losing
Hi,
I'm 42, 5'9, 240lbs. I've been fat for over a decade and have started to work on that. I'm doing cardio daily and lifting 3-4times a week. I'm eating healthier and have lost 30lbs so far in a little over 3 months of exercise. My cardio fitness is very good (I can run for 45-60min at a good 5.5mph) as is bp and heart rate. I'm here hoping to learn more about being lean and fit with good definition. And maybe how to lose fat faster while retaining muscle. 2lbs a week is really discouraging at this size...
Thanks for any help,

Mate, 2 lbs a week is 50 kgs a year! You spent the best part of 42 years getting out of shape, Please, there are no miracles, just hard work good nutrition and common sense.
I am not having a go at you, losing 30 lbs is a huge success. Be proud of what you have achieved and plan what you are going to achieve. Its not just the weight loss it's the fact you will enjoy life more, live longer, have more sex!!!!!! I would gladly be 42 again, at 58 it's getting harder, I still have new goals and I am going to make it!
Every time you try you win! Regards, John

Welcome!
and good luck! 2lb a week is good man. google what 2lb of fat looks like... that will put it into perspective maybe :-)
keep protein high and healthy fats med-high (eg oliv oil), carbs med, watch overall calories and do cardio for health! :-)
Google/research "carb cycling for fatloss" I really like it, and you have 1-2 cheat days still, which helps.
GOOD LUCK! :-)
