    New to Gear

Hello all, I am Jake. 27yr old fat guy who is trying to reverse the harm done to himself by being obese. I have been lifting since I was in my early teens. My father was an amateur body builder, and obviously had a big role influence on my lifting. Fast forward to 18yrs old, I was a prominent defensive linemen in high school. I was destined to play D1 college ball, until senior year when I was hit by a drunk driver, and left unable to walk for 7 months.

I went to college, just not for the reasons I had intended. I took up partying and gained 90lbs in two years. Stopped lifting, stopped watching my diet. 30 Packs of PBR and $5 Hot and Ready pizzas became a staple in my diet.

I got into the upwards of 390lbs when I finally awoke from the daze I was in. Determined to get back down to a solid 260lbs where I once was. I immediately quit smoking, and quit drinking. I cut out all soda, and fattening foods. That was nearly three years ago.

I never made it down to 260, but I switched my objective since then. With the help of my father, I have been wanting to get bigger and stronger. I joined here to educate myself. My father has had a lot of experience with gear from back in the day.

However I am sure that things have progressed a lot since he quit using the stuff back in the late 1980's. I wanted to learn all that I could, so I could make an informed decision. Not just for myself, but to assist my father as well. He still is very dedicated in the gym. Doctor said he has Low T, and has given him something to supplement it. However his levels are still lower than where he would like them to be.

So I come to seek knowledge for both us. For myself, I really just have hit a plateau. My chest refuses to grow, however my back, and legs are naturally gifted..
