    Hello! New member from MD

I'm 50 yrs. old, 5'9", and weigh 190lbs. Not sure of the exact bf % at the moment but would guess +/- 20%.

I was pretty athletic back in my "youthful" years but never much into lifting.
Around the age of 40, I started seeing the arms drooping and the gut growing and decided that wasn't for me!
I began lifting for the first time. Seeing the results prompted me even more and I made it a part of my life.
I've lifted pretty steadily ever since - loosing some time because of injury and/or working too much - but I always came back.

I eat clean (for the most part - I'm not exceptionally particular, but on the whole I do work at it).
I use the standard supps. - Creatine, Protein, NOS, etc. and have tried countless natural test boosting supplements.
While my body does seem to react to some of the naturals in a positive way, obviously the effects are limited and quite honestly, the money I've spent over the past 10 years could have probably put me on the real deal for the rest of my life!
I've never been looking to get massive - just solid and a bit less BF. From what I've researched, I'd like to have my test levels around 800-1,000. I know I need to begin by getting blood work, then take it from there.

Should I cut out the Natural boosters prior to the blood work or do they not boost my numbers enough to have any real effect?
Also, if I should cut out the naturals prior to blood work, how much time should I be "clean" before I get the blood work done?

Thanks for any info you can provide!
I'm looking forward to continued learning - and growth!

Welcome to the forums. You might get a better answer, but I don't think you have to stop anything prior your tests. I think it would be best to see where your levels are with whatever protocols you are on. But I have to be honest and say that I am not very experienced in this area but am sure someone will chime in shortly with more details.

Welcome Rrexy. An example of good blood work is in the Finding A Doc Sticky Thread in the HRT Forum. As you know that's step one. When it comes to test boosters many are actually suppressive of your natural testosterone production so be careful. Get that BW done and visit us in the HRT Forum!

Greetings, and welcome. I'm sure as you know as you get older your testosterone levels drop. There are certain symptoms you would notice, such as decrease in sex drive, depression, lack of energy loss of muscle mass ect. Not sure if you are experiencing any of these things however, a blood test would advise reveal this. If you do have low T you could be prescribed test. As a new member please visit the HRT (Hormone replacement therapy) thread and the over 40 thread. Very good information there. There are also mods who specialize in HRT and are a wealth of info. As for the test boosters, I personally never bought into them, can not comment on whether or not they actually work. The best test booster is test itself. As for your diet I wouldn't imagine what you eat before a blood test would effect your test levels. If you are gettting a full blood panel i.e. cholesterol then yes it would matter.

I have decided to give LowTestosterone.com a try.
My blood test will be Monday 01/13/14.
I'm looking forward to seeing how things work out!
