    Lookin to Learn

    Hey all,

A little about me. I currently live in China, hence the pollution mask. This gives me a number of unique problems especially when it comes to the gym. Working out at a gym here is the first time I have ever been on a treadmill and seen a guy next to me jogging while smoking a cigarette. I asked him what the hell he was doing, and he told me not to worry because he was a police man. I won't even mention a complete lack of other fundamental gym etiquette.

I am 26 years old and have been in the gym very consistently since the age of 15. I was into power lifting in high school so needless to say for a little guy I was throwing up some serious weight. Squat 400lbs, dead lift 425lbs, bench 265lbs weighing in at 155lbs. Since then I have shifted my focus from being strong to looking sexy.

Unfortunately, the looking sexy part of my plan hasn't panned out as expected. Which is why I am now here. I have a great grasp for everything inside of the gym when it comes to lifts, form, technique, motivation, etc, but it has come to my attention in the past year I am embarrassingly deficient when it comes to lifestyle management and diet.

I believed AAS would solve that problem and, seeing as I have been working my butt off in the gym with very little to no growth, thought they would help me overcome what I thought was my genetic limits.

I have been following posts on the boards and have seen how the majority of vets respond to guys my size claiming that we need AAS to get "swole". I now do not think I need AAS to reach my goals, but I do need a lot of help and guidance. (Possible after then I my decide AAS can help my achieve the physique I want.)

My current stats are: (unfortunately for my US friends these are all in the metric system)

    Height: 176 cm
    Weight: 73 kg
    Ankles: 22cm
    Calves: 37 cm
    Thighs: 56 cm
    Waist: 84 cm
    Chest: 96 cm
    Wrists: 17 cm
    Forearms: 29 cm
    Biceps: 33 cm
    Neck: 39 cm
    Body Fat: ~11% - 13%

    Goals:

I am not concerned too much with strength. I'm an 8th grade English teacher teaching Chinese kids. You don't have to be terribly strong to pick one up and throw him out of the window. (kidding).

I am currently happy with my lower body. I am actually a little bottom heavy and am about a few more centimeters away from have problems finding pants that fit both my waist and thighs.

I want to develop a bigger chest. Specifically 40 inches (I know this isn't metric). I would like to look in the mirror and be able to see more size and definition specifically in my upper chest.

I would also like to drop down to about 10% body fat, but I have cut weight before and know how to achieve this goal.

    Experience with Diet:

Last year, I experimented with carb cycling to help bulk and had limited success. I was able to maintain my weight and drop to about 8% body fat which was awesome but not really my goal.

Other considerations are the availability of western food items that are not mainstream.

    Supplements:

I have to ship everything in from the states so I try to keep things simple. I currently take whey protein, a pre-workout energy supplement, and fish oil.

    Injuries:

Last year, I severely strained (possibly tore) my left deltoid and it flares up with a lot of awkward pressure (close grip bench, incline barbell press).

In college, my car was in a wreck with a Coor's Light delivery truck that lost a load of kegs (true story) and permanently injured my Thoracolumbar Fascia (ligaments in the lower back just above the tail bone). While this doesn't prevent me from doing lifts, I just need to keep up with maintaining it or else I end up throwing out my back.

I will post more specific questions about my diet and workout concerns in the appropriate pages, and want to thank everyone in advance for helping me break through a mental barrier that I have about my ability to put on and maintain some size.

Welcome to the community! This is, BY FAR, one of the best introductions on this board I have ever read. The smoke story is making its round on my Facebook Newsfeed at this time. HAHAHA.

    Thanks

Thanks man I appreciate it. I'm looking forward to getting to know the rest of the community because I'm living in a workout vacuum over here. I'll try and snap some pictures of some of the f'ed up shit that goes on over here.
