Hey guys, new member here and hoping for some simple straight forward advice...

I'm 39, been active and lifted my whole life but i've never benched more than 320 and never been super serious about it in any way nor competitive at all, just for health and to look better. I've never done any sort of steroids , GH, nothing. Just creatine, protein, and I did take Andro for about 6 months back when Mcguire was knocking balls out of the parks. I did notice it made me a bit more irritable. I don't think there's anything wrong with me, I'm still fairly muscular, still think I have normal testosterone but I'm feeling older, weaker, my joints ache easier and I'm gaining fat easier. I'm considering taking something but don't know ANYTHING about this.

So now I'm learning that maybe steroids aren't all that bad for me, some sources say it could lead to bad stuff no matter what, others are telling me that it's mostly fear mongering and bullshit and that really its not so bad in smaller doses and I don't know who to believe. I plan on having some kids with my long time GF in the next year or two and don't want to do anything that puts that in jeopardy.

So my question is, is it possible for me to take something that is very low dose, maybe makes me feel stronger and younger again like say, when I was 30 without any negative side effects? I've seen the supplements that claim to naturally boost testosterone and Im considering just those but it seems reasonable that I could take small doses of something without any harmful side effects. I'm not looking to put on much mass really or get any drastic results but it'd be nice to turn back the clock just a small amount or at least maintain where I'm at now. I was listening to Joe Rogans pod cast and he said he takes some, he said "what's the alternative, shrivel up and waste away till you die?" that really hit home for me.

Any advice from some truly knowledgable guys on this subject would really be appreciated.

    Thanks!

Welcome BC! This threads really just for intro's but....

Start with full blood work. A good list of that is in the Finding A Doc sticky thread at the top of the TRT Forum. See what you have going on and make some nutrition / supplement / medical changes if necessary. Example: Vit D comes back low, add it to your protocol. D ultimately can improve free testosterone .
Pro hormones can often be suppressive of your natural testosterone so I'd avoid most of these...

You may be a TRT candidate based on BW. Another reason you always start with BW. If all is in order properly administered cycles can be very successful. Read Austinites Educational Articles Database at the top of the AAS Q & A Forum. Particularly the "Successful First Cycle" thread.
