54 year old new to steroids
Hi guys
I'm in UK and have been training for many years, I'm 54 but never used anything
I'm finding my joints starting to ache and not lifting like I used to,
been advised deca on its own or testosterone on its own, not sure so thought I'd join and ask more experienced guys
really appreciate any comments you have
Thanks

Deca is known for its joint support aswell as its anabolic effect. In therapeutic doses, 100 mg deca-durabolin per week for example. I would recommend deca above test just because test aromatizes a lot more thank deca. Deca is also a milder form of steroid compared to test. Many first time users will notice good gains between 200 and 400 mg/week. In your case I would think 200mg/week of deca should be suffiecient. And please remember These compounds can be psychologically addictive, and the desire for more is a dangerous game. Altough I'm only 19 I do my research. But make sure AAS is what you would be wanting to do. In my opinion at an older age AAS use could increase a much greater risk to high blood pressure and prostate enlargment (cancer) talk to you Doctor about it and get his opinion aswell.

Welcome apex. This is for introductions but some quick advice:
Visit the HRT Forum and read all the sticky threads (those at the top that don't move)
Consider full BW that is in the Finding A Doc Sticky.
BW may indicate low T and if so a proper protocol will make you a new man.
NEVER run deca by itself.
That said, visit the HRT Forum and read up.

This is very flawed advice. Deca on it's own will shut down your natural testosterone production which is why it is NEVER, EVER run by itself. Your theory on testosterone and prostate has been debunked by medical science as well.
Stick around pottie but don't put out info such as this again. Read up and learn.

Would you mind to eleborate or if possible a link to were I can read about the theory being debunked would like to read up about it? And yes it is fairly said deca is not to be used on its own I apologize for if it may have been wrong information I have put out there, but test on its own would not do much for his joint pains either would it? But test and a mild deca dose at 100mg/week would be a killer combo correct?

Here's the first one I found. Google or pubmed will produce ton's of them. It's old school dogma really. Read anything by Shippen, Morgantaler or Vergal as well.
Testosterone replacement therapy and prostate ... [Curr Urol Rep. 2012] - PubMed - NCBI
http://www.lef.org/magazine/mag2008/...-Cancer_01.htm
This one ^^ will cement your belief's.
Yes, test on it's own would in fact help to some extent as all steroids have anti-inflammatory qualities. But as stated, the op is 54 and it very well may be time for full BW and a quality TRT program.
And yes, test (TRT protocol) with low dose deca can be great. I run deca with mine most of the time.Last edited by kelkel; 06-20-2014 at 09:13 AM.

Deca alone and you'll be experiencing Deca D**k in no time at all. FYI, personally I've notice reduction in inflammatory issues on test alone on cycle.

the bottom line the OP needs to do allot of reading. great advice by Kel as usual, yes head to the HRT section and read all the stickies, then ask all the question you like.

Welcome mate
I'm 52, and been lifting for a few decades. Achy joints and injury prevention is something us older bulls need to pay attention to. Lots of ideas on how to mitigate these risks, start a thread in the right section (the over 40 section) or you can PM me when you get to 50 posts and we can run down some options.
Cheers!
