Hello, 42 year old needing a few questions answered
I am 42 years old and I have always exercised but in the last 10 years i have completely quit and i want to get back into it. I have never taken steroids but I have always thought about it. I am still in relatively good shape but its time to get back to where I was and even more. Any thoughts on what to start out with?
Thanks

You should spend a few years consistently training so you can build the proper strength in your soft/connective tissue (ligaments, tendons, etc). The connective tissue grows more slowly and is far less vascular than muscle tissue. Without proper training and condition, in the presence of steroids your connective tissue will lag in growth and you increase the risk of severe injuries.
The first place to start should be your diet and training. Nutrition and training are the core fundamentals and if you aren't committed to a nutrition plan that will facilitate muscle growth, steroids aren't going to do it for you. Nutrition is everything. It builds the foundation of growth for steroids and if you aren't eating at or above your TDEE once you've grown, you will lose the gains.
Nutrition before steroids. Always.

Thank you very much for the advice. I am in relatively good shape. I fought MMA for 8 years but that was before it was well known and still more underground. I know that I have not worked out like I use to which was twice a day but that is what I considered a work out. I still regularly hit the bag and get the cardio that way plus I have 4 boys that I trained for MMA which kept me in okay shape. I do know that muscle has great memory and as of late I have been working out. Nutrition has always been a key factor in my life and that has never dropped off. I will take your advice but if there is anything you can add, it would not fall on deaf ears. Thanks again.
