29yr old, low-T, new routine and Test Cyp
I was a member of these boards about 10 years ago after high school but fell off the workout wagon over the years. I've felt crappy the last year or so and am overweight and wanted to get back into the gym. I met with my Doc and got diagnosed with Low-T. Although I never used any gear in the past, my t-level at age 29 is below 300 (230 to be exact). I'm 5'9 and 265lbs. My goal is to get down to 220lbs. It'd be great to catch the lifting bug again and set a new set of goals once the 220lb weight is reached.
My doctor prescribed me to 100mg of testosterone cypionate injected every 2 weeks. I know it's not much, but it is a start. I am meeting with a personal trainer today to get routine planned out and hopefully start to get fit and get back into the game. I loved these forums back in the day and am looking forward to using it to keep me motivated!

Since I am starting at such a high body weight and have such low-t levels, should I focus more on cardio and diet to drop the weight and just keep lifting to the basics to gain muscle tone? I have never been small and never enjoyed cardio. Is it possible to drop the fat through lifting and diet alone? I don't want to under eat, but I imagine my low-t levels and this small of a dose of test. aren't going to allow me to put on the type of muscle that would require me to eat more than I feel hungry for.
Suggestions? Cardio/diet to get lean or focus more on lifting and diet since lifting is more enjoyable? Also, any thoughts on what my t-levels could get up to taking 100mg of test cypionate every over week? I should also add my doctor prescribed me 100mg of Clomid everyday as well. I'm wondering if this is going to be enough to get me up to where a normal 30 year old would be and if so, should I expect to feel the effect after a month? I know this isn't a cycle at all and is a baby dose, I just want to how long to feel normal energy levels, libido, etc.

It sounds like your doctor is confused. Hopefully some of the vets will chime in and will do you a much better job of explaining.

Glad that you're back Apollo. And I agree with joco, your doc is confused and does not know the half-life of testosterone . Since this thread is just for intro's, post up your full TRT protocol in the HRT section for feedback. Then, hit the Nutrition Forum and the vets will chime in and help you with your nutrition. Free Nutritionists is a good thing right!
Welcome.
