There is so much to learn about all aspects of bodybuilding to get the most out of your time and effort. I've been doing this for 30 years, and actively pursuing knowledge in the field the whole time, yet I'm learning new stuff every day.
Find yourself some good sources of information. Of course you've already found this forum, so there's one
I like the articles on t-nation and the exercise database on bodybuilding.com
For supps I usually consult examine.com for starters

A good book that covers principles of training is Ultimate Bodybuilding by Joe Weider.

When I first got into resistance training I took several college courses, but I realize that's not convenient for most people. If taking a course is a possibility, consider it.

Don't even consider steroids until you have training and diet well established.

    Best wishes!
