We actually have it lucky here in the US. According to inflation calculators (http://www1.jsc.nasa.gov/bu2/inflate.html), a gallon of gas bought in 1960 at .35 cents would cost about $2.35 today. Seems like inflation is to blame.

Could Be Worse
Guys I feel your pain. However I work in the petrochemical industry. If you could follow me around at work for a couple of weeks you would be amazed that gas doesn't cost $10 a gal. For example we are doing a shutdown on an Ultracracker unit right now. This turnaroud has to be done every for years. The Estimated cost for this one is $60 million. These things always fo over budget by the way.

If they included the military costs of keeping middle east oil flowing into the cost of gasoline, prices would be lots higher. Instead it comes out of your other taxes . . . makes the oil companies happy . . . guess their Washington lobbyists earn their keep . . .

I cant believe diesel is more than gas all the sudden . It was always a good 20cents lower , now its 20cents higher . Total BS .....kinda makes me rethink my whole thought process about buying a diesel truck .

i just paid $2.36 and thats at a petroleum fueling station. if i were to go to a regular gas station here it is $2.42. the funny thing is i'm right on the coast. i can see the ocean from where i get my gas. it's alright though the buisness pays for all of my gas. buisness or pleasure
