    Arnie not satisfied with bush

"California will not wait for our federal government to take strong action on global warming," the Republican said after an hour-long talks on the subject with Blair and prominent industry figures in Long Beach, California.
Schwarzenegger told a news conference: "We won't wait for the federal government. We will move forward because we know it's the right thing to do. We will lead on this issue and we will get other western (US) states involved."
Schwarzenegger restated his belief that "the debate is over" about whether global warming exists while Blair said he was encouraged that all the G8 leaders, including Bush, accepted it "without exception" at the Saint Petersburg summit earlier this month.

I really don't know if we, humans are responsible for "global warming" or not. Evidence suggests the earth goes through these cycles. To me it is irrelavent...we need to do more to stop the pollution whether it is causing global warming or not...it is still causing alot of bad shit. (thats scientific talk).

I agree with that. Even if we arent(allthough Im inclined to belive we are) causing global warming we sure need to stop treating the earth like a student dorm during a keg party.

So is it your stance that the Woolly mammoth was responsible for the end of the last ice age then? His methane laced gas polluted the earth to the point where it had to heat up? Or perhaps it was the discovery of fire by early hominids that changed the enviroment so much as to end the last ice age........
Earth goes through cycles guys. Everyone(the news outlets) are playing up the recent high temps in the eastern US this week as possible evidence of global warming. Little did they know though that not one of these hot days was a record high, the record highs for these 4 days was actually back between 1933 - 1955. Do you think that perhaps they are just trying to sell newspapers?

Well like I have said many times before. When dealing with a subject I have no knoweledge on myself I just follow the oppinion of the majority of experts. Those experts are far far more knoweledgable of earths cycles than you and me combined and yet they belive we have something to do with the recent warming.

Pointing out a particular high temp or a particular storm as caused by global warming is very bad journalism though because that is impossible.

But if you have a problem and now call it man made then these people get more funding to study the effects and they are now important. Even the 'experts' you speak of could have a political agenda.

offcourse. But so has the people that say global warming isnt man made. Alot of the most outspoken critics have ties to industries dealing with fossile fuels.
I would think the economic "benifits" if beeing against man made global warming is larger than beeing for.

And I dont think such a huge majority would ignore proof against man made global warming if such proof realy exist.

Its not happening because of greenpeace, the sierra club and other fanatics. While they dream of running the world on cow farts and sunlight they scare the people away from the realistic solutions.
