    I'll never watch CNN again!

Peace, Propaganda & the Promised Land provides a striking comparison of U.S. and international media coverage of the crisis in the Middle East.

I found this quite interesting. Unfortunately it's very true.

The Palestinians deserve there own independent country, but It should not come at the hand of a terrorist. If all the roadblocks , and suffering saves one single Israeli from the perversion of terror then its all worth it.

If people were firing rockets into my country on a daily basis, kidnapping our citizens, and strapping explosives to their kids and sending them over?????? You bet I would hit em and hit em hard.

I'm not talking about the Lebanon war that's going on now, that's a deep discussion to get into.

Defending illegaly occupied areas is called defending yourself?

    That's a new one.

Are you living in your own world? Do you think people just strap explosives onto themselves for no reason?

Citizens get kidnapped in every country all the time. Is it correct in your opinion to kill thousands of innocent civilians for 2-3 soldiers?

Killing innocent civilians is NOT an act of self-defense. Destroying a sovereign nation is NOT a measured response. The Israeli Defense Forces are destroying in few hours what Lebanon has spent years and billions of dollars to rebuild. Up until now more than 1000 Lebanese civilians and kids have been killed (not hisbollah) and thousands missing under the rubbles , thousands wounded, bridges and infrastructure destroyed, refugees are leaving Beirut in droves and worst of all the enforced siege might lead to a human catastrophe in the next few days and your saying Israel is defending itself?

Stop watching CNN, it's getting to you.

I dont watch CNN. Listening to their liberal biass makes me want to spew chunks.

Lebanon is unfortunately getting caught in the middle because hezbollah chickens are hiding behind civilians. Its sucks, but its either that or Isreals citizens. I would pick to attack.

That's true, but If I were you, I would take it a step further and try to realize why hezbollah and all these fanatic extreemist organizations exist!, and what events happened to bring them into existence. If I look back I could find a lot of reasons. Israel ain't no virgin Mary u know.

That happened a long time ago. U can't compare what's going on today with what happened back then. As far as I know they did attack at the time. (The Indians).

I would agree with that but now Israels back is against the wall. They are losing citizens left and right. I would do the same in their situation.

Yes, they did attack..and if the Indians kept doing it the U.S. would not have been as tolerant as Israel has been. Every day I turn on the news and hear about another terrorist bomber or another rocket...I wondered when the hell Israel was going to get the lead out of their ass and do something.

Hizbollah is USING CIVILIANS AS TARGETS. hey are trying to inflict maximum civilian casualites (they bombed a high school 3 times in 2 weeks), and they are placing their military units in and around civilan dense areas.

They are doctoring press photos, onl allowing the press to see their staged "scenes of death", and they are ignoring and purposely TRYING to cause the death of their own people!

This boils down to a dirty, rotten, underhanded struggle for power, nothing more. I don;t care what the cause is anymore, people are dying so these maniacs can have control, plain and simple.

Man this ain't no command & conquer strategy game. I know it's exciting (for someone thousands of miles away) to see F16's and Tanks blowing the shit out of everything, but Israel has been constantly oppressing and killing people in their own land since its existence after WWII. When has Israel shown tolerance?

Unless the solution (in your opinion) is for Israel to wipe out everys single Muslim/Christian on the planet and annex all teritories.

I`m jewish, from England,I have spent time in the region, and find it very offensive when these Americans on this board are Clueless about the true reality.I love my people. What we are doing is wrong, religion is not was this is about,I hope.I just want peace,we have to remember why Hizbollah launched the first attack? This gets no press.

I'm not saying they are, but can you tell me something that israel has done that involves maximum casualites on both its own citizens AND its enemies? That's just a psychotic lust for power...besides, it's not like there would be instant peace in the middle east if Israel was gone....

I did not say it was a game. Like I said their citizens are being attacked. They have a right to defend themselves. They are not opressing anyone??!!

Sounds pretty abstract. Id rather look at the facts and formulate an opinion.

It is easy to blame Hizbollah in this situation..they are, IMO, the ones causing the deaths of many innocent civilians. I dont need to be "in the middle of it" to see that.

That is true, I agree. The conversation/debate really centers on the "reason". Is the "reason" the alleged "occupation"? Is the "reason" the simple existence of the state of Israel?

What is the "reason" for the existence of suicide bombers? Hell, what is the "reason" for child rapists?

A tough nut to crack for some I think.
