Theres a murder case on the news here in the UK where 15 year old lad killed an 11 year old lad with Cystic-fibrosis in a pre-meditated and cold way...

    http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2-2006480108,00.html

He got life, but only has to serve a minimum of 12 years....

how long would he have got in YOUR country? and are our laws here in the UK hard or soft?

just seems we are getting a bit lax on punishing crime in this country (uk) due to the prisons being full....

think that any crime against children (even if the attacker is another child but such pre-meditated evilness is displayed as in this case) they should be on a LIFE sentance... and life meaning LIFE

If your old enough to be tried as an an adult, you should be allowed to buy cigarettes, alcohol, and guns like an adult, sign contracts like an adult, and vote like an adult. If you want to try children as adults, you have to lower the age of being an adult.

If there is remorse, if there is a possibility of reform, the system is set up to help a child 15... but an adult is the sentencing is punitive, they stopped trying to reform in the 1970's.. changed all the charters of the prisons..

also since 1985 when crack came on the scene in california, the prisons are full of crack users with 15-20 yr sentences for dealing crack..

    makes ya wonder..

Some acts deserve the same sentencing, regardless of age. Would you want this "reformed" kid getting out of juvenile detention in a couple of years and living next to you and your family?
