ATHENS, Greece — Muslims across Europe are confronting a rise in "Islamophobia" ranging from violent attacks to discrimination in job and housing markets, a wide-ranging European Union report indicated Monday.

The study, compiled by the European Monitoring Center on Racism and Xenophobia, urged European authorities to strengthen policies on integration. But it also noted that Muslims need to do more to counter negative perceptions driven by terrorism and upheavals such as the backlash to cartoons depicting the Prophet Muhammad.

The 117-page survey details the many divides between the EU mainstream and the estimated 13 million Muslims — now at least 3.5 percent of the 25-nation bloc's population — and seeks to offer a street-level view of the complexities blocking efforts to bridge the differences.

"The disadvantaged position of Muslim minorities, evidence of a rise in Islamophobia and concern over processes of alienation and radicalization have triggered an intense debate in the European Union," said Beate Winkler, director of the Vienna-based group.



IMO: Integration is the key, you cannot refuse to learn the local language, customs, and laws of your host country, and expect to be treated as one of the boys.

1.) Under true Sharia law, you are free to convert to any religion you want. You will only be sentenced to death if you are causing fitnah among the Muslim Ummah.

No, it's a great idea. As I recall, not everyone is allowed to take residency in Australia. You must bring a skill that is needed by the country in order to be allowed in. Mothers frequently take part in suicide martyrdom videos with there children before they do the deed, It is a custom for the family, and especially the Mothers of dead suicide bombers to hold a joyful celebration in the name of the "honorable" dead child, candies are passed out, schools, streets and soccer teams are named after them. I myself have met Palestinian parents of 12 to 15 kids who are starving, but say they raise the children to join the Jihad against the Jews.

you forgot soviets and serbs to name 2 huge groups that were killed in huge numbers. largest group to suffer was russian civilizians, it was 10 mil minimum. then you have the various minority groups (including jews) used as cannon fodder by the soviet army. then you have the ethnic germans killed directly or indirectly by the allies. tons of groups sufferred in ww2. if you very narrowly define mass civilian death as it occurred in relatively few death camps, then i'm sure jews "win." but there were many, many, many different methods of killing civilians during ww2 including using truck exhaust (a totenkopf forerunner to gas chambers), to simply shooting people, to herding them into concentrations without enough food and water.
