No. I think he's all about what he believes rather than compromising his beliefs in the hopes of people liking him. That's called integrity.

we haven't lived in a democracy... well, i can't remember when.. the thought of "mob" rule is not acceptable..

could you imagine the population of NY, and all urban area's getting together and voting that they don't need to pay for highway construction with their taxes??

The President's right to veto a bill is part of the Democratic process. Keep in mind that if 2/3 of Congress agree with a bill, it will be passed regardless of what the President wants.
