So wait, you agree with me? (unfortuntately, though)
I didn't mean to make it a white/black thing. In America I believe the education rate for minorities is lower than for whites, that's all. So, therefore, the correlation would stand. Any group that experiences a rise in education is going to have the same trend, like you pointed out in blacks. More blacks are getting educations and careers. This was the same with the Italians and Irish when they first came over to the US. We weren't educated and very religious. The old picture of the Irish family with 10 kids had a lot of truth to it.
Another thing I seem to notice is that a lot of 1st generation Hispanics are very religious. Therefore, they shun birth control and see child birth as a gift (even if you can't support the children).
Is there a correlation between education and religious zeal? I know a lot of powerful and influential people are "religious", but they don't seem to have 10 kids anymore.
My apologies, but I'm not in a "stat searching" mood tonight. I'm running strictly on memory and common sense.
Edit: Ok, you twisted my arm
