UK steroid news story

just heard on the news that "more people are using steroids than Heroin" they then interviewed a nurse who went on to say that young males are using vetenary drugs meant for animals which is highly dangerous apparently. She said young males look at pictures of muscular animals like bulls and then use the vet gear to look "the same". EERRR yeah that and the fact its CHEAPER might have something to do with it. ****ing dumb bitch!

I wonder what research she did to draw such an astonishing conclusion. The level of idiocy is just laughable.

There is absolutely no way there are more people abusing steroids than heroin. Sounds to me like someone is trying to deflect the real growing drug problem of Heroin in the UK.

funnily enogh when speaking to the workers at my local needle xchange (they regualry ask me for advice on what AS people use and what is IGF ect ect...) they told me that 60-70% of there clients were AS users and the rest were rec drug users. I am thinking that the government has got some figures from needle exchanges and this is what the news story is based on. However this does not account for the fact that AS users use the needle exchange as they want to dispose of sharps hygenically and practice safe injection procedure where as junkies probably cant be bothered to visit an exchange reguarly and use old/shared pins ect.

What irks me is that the media puts them into the same category and then compares them, ie Heroin, opium and AAS users. The intentions, the effects, the ***endancy, the users are totally antithetic. No reason to be an alarmist. I have yet to see an AAS user on the street, exanimate, wasting their life.
