Congress has done much to earn low approval ratings
Paul Campbell hit the nail on the head by referring to Congress as a bunch of clowns -clueless ones at that.
This is the same group which seems to want to impeach President Bush for a variety of unspecified "crimes" such as low poll numbers, the lowest ever. However, not as low as Congress. A fact our so-called leaders and mainstream press fail to mention when they are in front of a camera. The same camera that provides us with 30 seconds of their political sophistry directly from the space between their ears.
The big question in this game of politics and keeping score is how low can they go? How long before the American public, at least that part of the American public paying attention, starts to rebel by actually impeaching the clowns themselves for malfeasance?
Yes, they may be clowns, but they are our clowns.
Given the latest poll numbers, Congress' approval rating is in the low teens. That means more than 80 percent of the American public disapproves of Congress! How should we, the public, respond to that? Congress has already responded by giving itself a pay hike. That was certainly gracious of them now. Humble? More worthy of warm spit is the reality.
Sadly, we will probably see no change in the workings of Congress worthy of our respect. Daily we will see the same bunch of clowns with serious expressions gathered around the proverbial microphone, on camera, full of sound and fury and all signifying nothing. Is it any wonder the majority of eligible voters do not go to the polls when they get the same rubbish, regardless of party affiliation?
