Conflict as Israeli soldiers storm Turkish ship with aid to Gaza. 10 people killed

Long story short, Israeli soldiers intercepted this convoy bound for Gaza to deliver aid, boarded, met with some restistance from crew members and the outcome resulted in over 10 people killed, all of which were crew members. Israel is claiming they had no choice but to defend themselves.

The leading ship was a Turkish ship, one of the few islamic countries that Israel had semi-amiacable ties with, however this relationship has been strained over the years and now this looks as if that's been ruined.

The convoy was eventually taken to an Israeli port where the passengers were deported.

All this, a day before Barrack Obama meets with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Washington to discuss relations between the US and Israel.

Israel has been attacked by its neighbors for decades, and still is under attack. Just as innocent civilians were killed here on 9/11 by Islamic extremist the same happens there on a daily basis. How would the US react if suicide bombs were killing civilians and artillery being shot from say...Canada? Its an active war zone, and their is a navy blockade. You were warned, boarded and put up a fight. At that point its you or them. How are they to know if they are carrying rockets, or rice? Would be interesting if there were weapons aboard being transported to the Hamas government.

The film showed soldiers getting hammered with pipes and things (peaceful actions there), what do you expect the soldiers would do. there were 5 other ships also halted without incident.

However, what everyone is failing to comprehend is that this happened in INTERNATIONAL WATERS which is illegal. Why the IDF couldn't have waited a couple of hours and then apprehended the ships when in nuetral waters is beyond me.

There's additional video footage, though im not sure on chronology, but it shows the IDF firing on the ships. If this happened BEFORE they boarded, well is anyone surprised that some of the crew went batshit afterwards?

International law (screw international law) states that if a flagged military vessel intercepts a ship, the ship is to submit and not resist.

After the Irish ship was seized, you have to wonder if the "Free Gaza campaigners" will try a ship with a different nationality. Israel is obviously not bothered about Turkey or Ireland, would they balk an American, British or Chinese ship however.

The reason the Blockade is there is to keep Palestine poor. Livestock is not allowed to be sent in so they can be self sufficiant. The reason for the blockade is obvious, they want the Palestinian people to rally against its own government to oust any Hamas involvement.
