My opinion is that Barack Obama's election has been so exaggerated. Change didn't come and won't come. Lobbyists will still have their way with anyone who steps into the white house.

If I was still on active duty I would refuse to re-up on my contract while he was president. As a soldier in the military you should support your commander-in-chief. I despise this joke of a president.

As soon as I found out he would fight the republicans on cutting all financial add-ons to bills. I was done. Not that I voted for him.

I hate when people talk about presidents or politics and act like they know whats happening in our government. I can assure you that you and 98% of the rest of the population truly know nothing about what happens in politics, nor do you know about the hundreds of new laws that are passed every single day.
I also hate when people talk about presidents as if they make all the laws. This isn't a communist country, the president can't just pass laws because he feels they are necessary. In fact, he can't even pass any law if he just feels like it. Most of every single law that is passed is created and passed by the judicial system and they would have been passed regardless who was president. If you're going to be mad at someone be mad at the judiciary.

Nice post. Most people don't like politicians, but often like to pass the blame on to the guy in charge for any personal woes in their life. Someone loses a job, and rather than wonder if it was because they weren't performing well enough, it's easier to blame it on whoever is running the country. And so on.

I believe Obama is doing a pretty good job considering what was thrown at his feet. The fact that he is willing to do something that is good for the country even though he knows it will destroy what people (even his own party) think of him is great. We need leaders like this. Leaders like these are the ones who are usually assassinated. His own party hates him, Republicans hate him, much of the US hates him; he is doing what is best and taking a lot of shit for it. everyone can sit back and say how things would be perfect if_____. But the fact is he is doing what he can and the public doesn't know what goes on behind closed doors so we can't say much about what is or isn't "his" fault. His own party hates him, the other party hates him, America hates him, so long to any political gains from pulling the stunts he has, so what is he doing? Maybe, just maybe, we have a president who is fighting for the people...
I think there are some good signs. It appears that he will be one of those presidents who goes down in history as being great, but we don't realize it at the time.Last edited by Twist; 12-12-2010 at 02:08 AM.

I moved to Ireland the week before he was inaugurated.. As far as I am concerned it is not Obama, it is the entire American system... The military is way too large.. no other country in the world spends 35% of their tax income on the military.. and the US would not hae to if they just stopped pissing on everyone's parade.. and stopped backing Israel.. I still do not see how americans complain about healthcare for paeople and then have no problem when they see that three times the cost of universal healthcare is spent on the military every year.. I have a lot of freinds in the military and am in no means anti military.. but i think that too much money is spent in that department..America lives in fear. The whole government was created with Checks and Balances that prevent anything from getting done effectively.. and with the way congress can pick its own districts make them way too comfortable. Congress whould be demolished entirely.. destroy the senate too.. waste of time and money.. Democracy is bullshit and does not work. .the Greeks figured that out 3000 years ago.. And the US version of democaracy is a joke when you take into consideration the rate of growth of the poor and how completley backwards people are in some of the run down neighborhoods of Oakland, Detroit, Harlem.. etc..

Obama, like Bush, fails to protect America from the flood of illegal immigrants. Increased crime, disease, and decay are the
costs we pay. Also consider that in 2009 feds "welcomed" 1.1 million legal immigrants. (85% third-worlders) Right in the middle of a recession.
Bottam line, he should be tried for treason. Keep your powder dry, open season ahead on the southern border.

Yea, Ive seen that post before, Id hardly count 90% of those as accomplishments, and twist I dont know what tax cuts to the unemployed you're referring too.
89. Has announced his intention to push for energy reform
90. Has announced his intention to push for education reform
so?
24. $789 billion economic stimulus plan
Thats not a victory.
37. Attractive tax write-offs for those who buy hybrid automobiles
38. Cash for clunkers program offers vouchers to trade in fuel inefficient, polluting old cars for new cars; stimulated auto sales
Hybrids lose value much faster than other cars, while cash for clunkers hurt the used car market and put thousands of cars into junk yards before there due, while putting already broke people in more debt with these "incentives.
4. Beginning the withdrawal of US troops from Iraq
and sent them to afghan
69. The FDA is now regulating tobacco
okay
78. Limited salaries of senior White House aides; cut to $100,000
okay aides make 100k and sentors make 175k
. My point is its all in how you look at it, i'd give maybe 10 things on that list a nod of improvment, none of which are really national improvements like giving a latina a judicial position or getting people released from north korea.
