    northern ireland in darkness again

id like to express my disgust at the slaying of the psni officer in omagh on saturday. what was the point in wasting someones life over a futile and pointless battle? ireland wil never be united, why wont these evil bastards get this into their heads???
im a catholic from n ireland and have been living in the republic for over 2yrs now and can safely said that the republic does not want the north in any shape or form and im sure the UK would like to wash its hands of the place.

they are just murders, they have no cause. theres no place for this in ireland anymore, 99% of the sectarianism is just an excuse for violence. those brainless arseholes shouting for the ira in the north should be greatful they arent part of the republic, its a rip off hole run by power tripping monkeys

The Ireland situation is a little weird to me. So the North/Republic split was made after the revolt? Or did the North just happen to stay intact with Britain after the irish War of Independence? What does the North make up of the situation today? Can I get a quick summarization of what is going down in the region from 1919 to today?

top of this page this sums it up.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portal:Northern_Ireland

just use google etc and you'll find alot more indepth stuff. ive read all the republic/loyalist books/biographies out there, some shocking stuff and even collaborations between sworn enemies.

basically the IRA are disbanded and dissidents from the fall out are now 'continuing' the war.
they are tiny in comparison to the IRA and are heavily infiltrated, the cops know who is responsible, they just have to get evidence on them
they surface every now and then to cause mayhem, they arent wanted by 90% of catholic northern ireland and the republic certainly doesnt want them either. i lived in the north for 32yrs and now live in the republic, the republic doesnt want n ireland contrary to the belief of some ppl in other nations
    all decent ppl want peace.

id get battered for speaking out against this, in my home town in the north
