U.S. & European Union React to BRICS Expansion
Vinod Dsouza
September 13, 2023
The BRICS summit ended on a positive note last month as the alliance took a historic decision to induct six new countries into the bloc. The six countries that will join BRICS are Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Argentina, Iran, Egypt, and Ethiopia. Five countries, except for Argentina, are oil-producing nations that control 42% of the global oil supply. Therefore, the BRICS expansion has ruffled feathers in the U.S. and the European Union, as the alliance is seen as a threat to the Western-dominated financial markets.
BRICS is advancing in its quest for de-dollarization by putting their respective local currencies forward for global trade. The move could hamper the U.S. and European Union economies but strengthen the BRICS member’s GDP.
BRICS Expansion: U.S. & the European Union React
Reinhard Butikofer, the European Union minister from Germany, minced no words by saying that BRICS is establishing itself on matters of global importance. He stressed that all differences between the 11 member nations would be ironed out over time and that they would remain united. He warned that China’s influence will grow across all financial sectors, posing a significant challenge to the EU.
“The BRICS summit has established historic facts. This will significantly increase the international importance of BRICS, even if there are appreciable differences between its members,” he said. He added, “The character of BRICS will change with this round of enlargement. China’s dominance will increase, and the BRICS will become a clearly authoritarian group.”
On the other hand, U.S. White House Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre also reacted to the BRICS expansion. Pierre remained cautious and did not go all out against BRICS expansion like the European Union leaders’ statement. She revealed that the U.S. will not stop other countries from choosing their partners to trade with. She emphasized that the U.S. is focused on trading with all countries and won’t interfere in their internal affairs.
“US policy does not ask our partners to choose between the United States and other countries. We have repeatedly emphasized that the US does not want to limit countries’ partnerships with other countries. But we want countries to have choices on how to deliver results to their citizens as well,” she said.Last edited by Davi Meireles; 09-13-2023 at 09:04 PM.

CRIBS is just a group of wannabe world leaders. You have 3 real players, maybe, and some hangers on. Those little hanger ons are the snotty little kid in the school yard that hides behind their big friends while they pick on someone else. The 3 "real players" are the dumbasses that think "well, we have fuck3d with this guy before and he let it slide", then run home with their tails between their legs, whining to mommy, screaming "look what that bad bully did to me! wahhhh" when they get hit back.
Punks.
In other words, don't start sh!t with the baddest mf'er in the school yard, then whine like a b!tch when you finally get your ass kicked.
But that's just one man's opinion.

Let me be more clear, trout (whatever "trout" means in this context)
You pasted some stuff designed only to provoke the US members of the board.
What I said, so that maybe you can understand it, is:
Russia, China and maybe India are the only real players here.
Everyone else is a baby nation.
The baby nations are hoping to align themselves with the bigger players because they are insignificant on their own.
These actions are perceived to be a problem for the US.
The US cannot be bothered with the actions of these nations at this time.
When / IF the US decides to deal with these issues, the little baby nations will hide behind the skirts of Russia, China and India.
Davi, we got on well enough, both before your ban and up till now after your return. But posting stuff like this is NOT meant to elicit legitimate diplomatic conversation. It serves only to incite bad blood and arguments. Take that somewhere else, and lets stick to training topics.

Not sure why you started another thread on the same topic. That said, similar to OPEC, which used oil as a political tool/weapon in the 70’s (pretty effectively for a bit too), I see similarities here. Man, I remember those f’n lines for gasoline back then & the emergence of those shitty gas-friendly automobiles
The modification now however, is not only do you have the major oil producers, but, in Argentina & China, you have some of the world’s largest lithium deposits. Now if you toss in neighboring Chili & Bolivia, you’re really looking at cornering the lithium market.
Smart maneuvering knowing about the US’s (and the world’s) goal of transitioning to clean energy.
Similar to prior to the 60’s- 70’s we (the USA) we were confident of our oil production dominance (that changed very quickly), the USA has large deposits of lithium. Some smart political chess-play by those countries, let’s see what happens.

I have a white flag for you, trout means friend, brother, each place has its own local slang... And no, I didn't mean to provoke the Americans on this forum, I have total respect. Now know that it was your president Biden who placed Brazilian president Lula in power .I can tell you that the Brazilian elections were almost the same as the US elections that removed Donald Trump from power.
I will leave aside any matters of politics and geopolitics right . I am Pro America. Watch the video below and you will understand the reason for my posts saying about BRICS. The guy in the Trucker Carlson video was correct that if the left took over the Brazilian government, it would ally itself with Communist China .Lula is anti-American and Joe Biden burned his hand helping him. JUST watch the video below

Remembering that Iran has currently joined the BRICS and Lula is trying to go against the US dollar. I'm rooting for Lula to be impeached.
