    question re: body fat

I just joined this site today... never did this before. I'll be 49 in a few months and having trouble keeping the bodyfat to a minimum. I work out regularly and so a little cardio. Was wanting to look into supplements to help... any advice on where to start?

that was quick. thx for the advice... i eat pretty well now and make sure i get plenty of protein / complex carbs. my problem has been that when i step up the cardio i tend to lose strength... i don't know if it's possible at my age, but i am hoping to get lean without a loss in strength and muscle mass.

At our age the fat just doesn't melt off like it used to. In my teens and twenties and a little into my thirties I boxed. when I was in my teens and twenties I would box in three different weight classes. I would just loose weight or gain weight for my next fight. in my thirties I had to just stick with the the cruiser weight. even after six months of being in the boxing gym I did not go down to the light heavy weight I wanted to be in. I'm saying this to let you know it just gets harder as we age. just diet. increase your cardio and don't worry about loosing strength. you will but you will loose such a small amount of strength you wont really notice it. just stay in the gym and keep lifting weights. you will be fine.

a starting point would be to apply a little test to the problem. Are you pinphobic?
If your concientious of your diet and finding the time for cardio and resistance training, then you have the foundation...many here have appplied a cycle of test and seen great results. I have gone from 175 lbs to 185 lbs and added muscle then cycled again after learning more about diet and went up to 190 ,then cut down to 175. way lower bf now.
It takes a few bucks....but moreso...it take time to read and read about products and diet ,but it sounds to me like you may be ready.
