    Test. levels too low?

    Hello All,

I'm 41, 6'1", 215, generally excellent health but have genetic Choelsterol issues and have been on Lipator for a several years, also had a vasectomy three years ago.

I started HRT that consisted of only HGH about five months ago. At the time my IGF-1 levels were 189 and my total test was 257ng/dl (Quest Labs). I wanted to reap the benefits of HRT. I do 2.5IU's of blue tops a day. Started Anavar 10mg/day thirty days ago, with excellent strength and size results. All in all I'm happy.

I was ready to take the next step to TRT but wanted a fresh baseline before starting. I was a bit shocked to get back the good and the bad...
(Now using LabCorp), 343 for my IGF-1. Yea! But my test. levels...
    Total 79
    Free 2

I was of course already was going to start TRT but before I do I wanted to run this up the flag pole here as I'm a bit shocked at how low these levels are. Is this normal for us old guys, is this really what happens when we don't take aggressive action to combat age :-) or are these levels too low and I should take other actions?

    Your comments are appreciated.

I have not as this was done a week ago and I had no reason to think there was a lab issue. In fact everything on the test showed to track fairly well against my previous test with the exception of...well...my test. :-)

Are you thinking the Lab's test. test is the issue?

yes levels drop... I'd get my t3 levels tested as well, that long of a use of GH could be effecting you as well..

The issue is the definition of "normal" the older you get the lower the level is acceptable..

    Ni4ni,

I just noticed a note on the test which states that the Free Test was verified.
