Sore lower forarm/high biceps, anybody?????
Guys, or Gals.
I've been having some issues with pain in my high-upper forarms and lower biceps. My bi's hurt while I'm doing back and I never seem to make it to Biceps? If I do it's very light.
I'm 45, and I've been at this game for awhile, I've had my share of injuries, but never anything like this? It's almost like tendonitis of the inside elbow?
Anybody have any ideas?, I've thought about switching some things up and going with Back/Tri's, Chest/Bi's. If this doesn't help, I may have to back off bicep training all together, at least until the pain goes away?

It just didn't work, I am going to have to dump bicep training for awhile. Anybody's thoughts on this issue would appreciated.

I had that problem years ago. The pain was like a quarter sized spot on each arm, small area, but very painful. (on the front side of my elbow, if that makes any sense). I switched to doing curls with a super wide grip, almost as far as I could reach and still lift the weight. The pain did go away and never came back , but it might have been because I was 31 at the time. I'm 58 now a the pains stay much longer...

Im 47 have the same problem in my Left forerm and Bi-cep, definitely the tendon, go a little lighter for a while on back and bi, but while u are there is a Forearm strap that u can get to help put pressure on the tendon and give it support, it relely works well, after a couple of weeks or sooner u can go heavy again, keep wearing it for a while I still wear it just to help not tweak it again.....

it is tendinitis. you have to treat it as such. it is very common among men our age. more common than you think. in fact I have it now. Tendons heal very slow. even in young people. even slower at our age. you just have to lay off for a while or avoid exercises that aggravate it. I will do light weight and higher reps. thats how I deal with it. take analgesics. take aspirin or Mg of ibuprofen every day for about a week. it will help but not heal it. try not to do anything that will aggravate it. if it hurts don't do it. good luck

Thanks for the wise words guys. I had hoped to make the big comeback and compete again, this layoff won't help.

It's been about 7 years since being on any gear, I live in Tucson AZ , and don't know how to get any? Most of the kids around here are on something?

Its like golfer elbow.
I have been training with the pain and it has been weeks and it seems to go away very slowly , light weights and cruling helped it going away, i hope my test cycle for the first time will kill all the pains

It's kinda crazy , I'm having the same problem right now . Looking at the forums I found this post. Good reading for me. I am 45 and trained on and off since high school . Right now I am hitting cardio harder than ever , waiting for pain to subside, I believe in a week I will try the light weights . Good luck

with tendinitis stay off the juice. yes there are some that promote healing but in many cases the extra strength will cause more injuries. the muscle will get stronger but the tendons and bones and ligaments don't have time to catch up. then the first thing that will happen is you tear or break one of the above. if you do go on the juice keep what I said in mind and be extra carefully.

In my twenties when I had an injury I would just keep my bench below 350 until I healed. In my 30's I found that I had to keep it below 300. In my forties it was about 250 and now it's around 200. In ten more years I am not going to be able to lift myself out of bed...LOL

@ 45 I'm stronger than I have ever been in my life. With that said I have to work around injuries constantly. I have been athletic all my life. Believe me I feel the frustration you guys feel.
At my local gym I see even young guys go on the juice and end up injuring themselves. guys our age. will do the same. the muscle gets so strong so fast and the bones and tendons don't have time to catch up. back in the 90s this young man 19 or so came to asking what gear to take. I advised him against it. about two months later he blew up like a balloon. I do not know what he was on. Anyway he was in the gym doing heavy curls and broke his arm. What happened was his muscles got stronger and the bones did not have time to catch up. Damn what a shame. My point is be careful.

The best way to treat tendonitis is to imobilize the tendont for a month. We dont want to do that but go light and stay with it. if it hurts dont do it do any other exerse that will not hurt the tendon in question.
