Type of gear for first timer..

Any suggestions as to what a newbe should use for a starter cycle? I want to put on some muscle, and lose some BF.. I don't want anything to complicated, just a good jumpstart to get me going. I dont know much so I want to research gear and the upside/downside of anything I may use. Any imput would be great-thanks.

test only is the most recommended first cycle, although at our age you should look into trt.

Big is correct. but first let me say loosing body fat is done from diet not from gear. come back and tell us your stats. age, body fat index, heigth, your time in the gym and goals.

My age is 42, Ive been back in the gym for a few months after years of inactivity, Im 5'8" and weigh 187lbs. My BF is 23% according to my bathroom scale. Ive been doing the stronglifts 5x5 and have seen some strength increases, but also some joint pain in my elbows. (Im sure its my age).. I realize that diet is the only way to loose the BF but I want to put on more muscle to increase my metabolic rate to burn more fat. Im not looking to be a body builder, I would like to just get larger and increase strenght to play sports and keep up with my boys.. Thanks guys for your help..

You need to start with the diet section and get your bodyfat down about another 10%. You should be hitting the gym for one to two years minimum before touching gear. You can cause a lot of ligament damage as you increase the weight etc. I'm going thru it right now with tendonitis in my elbow. Plus, I've been in the gym for years and am in good shape but had I not been in the gym for as long as I have the injury would be much worse I'm sure.

You can see a huge maturity difference in yourself vs. a lot of the younger kids coming on here wanting to do a cycle. Being mature you take advice and know that the advice given here is to HELP YOU. When we get 18 year olds wanting to do AAS they just pony up an attitude and say they are going to do it no matter what.

With your attitude you will easily get down to the desired weight and bodyfat you're looking for. At that time you can reward yourself with some AAS to really knock the results out of the park.

As for your original question, for a first cycle keep it simple. Test E or C at 500mg/week shot twice 3 1/2 days apart. Follow that up with PCT of Nolva and Clomid and you will be good to go. 12 weeks on 14-18 days after last injection for PCT depending on if going with Test E or C and you're good to go.

As you're getting into shape you should look into supplements. Creatin and L-glutamin worked great for me. I've been training for over 35 years and just did a cycle this year. It was a great experience except for the acne.

    lota good advice here.

do the most u can naturally.

your only 42. thats not that old! it just sounds like your simply out of shape. be patient, your metabolism is prolly slow after years of inactivity along with a bad diet.

with weights diet and cardio u can get it jump started again. lifting promotes GH anyhow. (not sure how much it diminishes at this age bracket tho-if any)

Get yourself into the gym and/or go running, bicycling or what ever. like the Nike ad "just do it". literally work your ass off.
as you are doing this look into the steroid profile page on this forum and study clenbuteral and cytomel . when done right it can help. but let me caution you about the cytomel. If not done right it can kill your thyroid. so please read and learn before you make a decision on this. but diet and exercise will git you where you need to go.

    Excellent posts here.

    Good solid advice.

I'm so used to Q&A and the maturity level there.

When you start losing faith with some of the newer members (I'm one of them) it's nice to get someone that is truly doing his research and taking advice. This is the person that will excell in bodybuilding and truly make gains beyond his expectations.

    Great thread.
It was interesting that no one mentioned VAR.
I know it's an oral, and test is likely best, especially considering his levels may have lowered.
I am 41 and going for my bloodwork early next week as advised to do so by senior members before I start any cycle. In the interim, give it time. I've been back in the gym for a year now. Took a little time off after a car accident in December, but otherwise doing 4 to 5 lifting days a week.
