What to expect/ask for (drug and dose) from my Doctor

Hello, first of I am new. Thanks for reading this.

I decided to have my T levels checked at age 35, and discovered my total T was below 300 (and that was the mark for my insurance to cover my treatment). I am almost 37 now... I am stressed, do not sleep, have no sex drive (as in none)....and am tired, and feel "groggy" most of the time.

My last Doctor of 2 years did Labwork, and started me on the the test "pellets" inserted under my skin. The first time was 6 pellets, next time was 8. I felt alot better with the 8, but it did not last long.

I also tried the gel, which again was perscribed by my Doctor, and it was messy and akward, and I could not tell any difference in libido, energy, mood stabilization, ect.... and surely no strength/muscle gains.

Fast forward to now... we have moved to Katy, Texas and I have a appointment next Wednesday with what may become my new Primary Physician.

So, I know he will do a complete lab test, and I know my T will be low. I wish to have the injections, as the pellets required a cut that left a small scar on my buttox, and it tapers off and you start feeling lousy.

So... I dont know how to approach the visit.

Should I just tell him that I want the injections? Is there a "common" brand that doctors prescribe, and if so, are some better than others? WebMD says that Test cyp or eth is used commonly, and normal doesage in a clinical setting is 250-300 mg every 2 weeks...

So, how do I influence him that I need more as in 400mg per week, or more frequest doeses (my copay is only $15).

    So, what should I do...
What has your doctor perscribed and is it enough to make you feel better AND see some mass gains?

I have looked online at Primo for years, but have always been afraid to buy it. I like the ay it is described as a slow mass builder, with little side effects, and most gains are slow, but do not dissapear after you stop taking it.

I do not want to do the "balloon swell" over 8 weeks with common Roids you read about, (that is obvious to everyone what your doing) as far as taking a roid... Rather, I just need enough to ad mabey1-3 lbs of muscle a week or something.

I want slow, permanent gains.... I dnt want people to say "wow, you got on roids!" instead I want them to say "for a old guy you can tell he works out still".

I dont want to ever be Anold, but 12.5 inch biceps and a narrow chest is all I have had... I really, really want to change that.

I eat right (125-150 G proetin per day, around 2,200 Calories, Carbs all are whole grain), take rest days, lift heavy and mix up sets to confuse my body...
A little stronger, a good pump after the gym... and no growth, as in none....

So, when it comes to something perscribed from a Doctor, what should I ask for?

I dont think it would go over too well if I just said:

"Hello new Doctor, I would like testosterone and primo injections every two weeks please, and make the doses high enough for a 275 lb man please...."

Any and advice, thoughts, ideas, or experiences welcome.

Thanks again for reading.... I look forward to gaining more info from the site.

    *Salutes*

How can you convince hom to give you over 400mg i dont think you understand trt at all.

If you want your dr to be a dealer you have the wrong idea of trt.

LOL, thats what I am saying....

I am fortunate enough to get some Testoserone Treatment from my DR for medical reasons. I am asking (from others who have done this legally from thier MD) what they have goten, or what he is likely to want me to try (name, amount, ect).

I am asking how to get more, or is one medical brand better than another.

I am also asking can I expect any gains from what he will porovide.

Is there a trusted mail order site that anyone from here has used? I assume if I am getting some legit from my DR, that if I added my own on top of that, it would not show on a urine test, I dont think they test at my job for that... but just in case.

Just tell the doctor flat out that you want the injections. There isn't any particular brand that is better over the other. I've used 3 or 4 different brands and a few different compounding pharmacies, they all work the same to get my "T" levels where they need to be.

I'd probably drop the Primo idea for the time being. If you're looking for a balanced TRT program you should be looking at dialing in the right amount of Test Cyp/Eth, maybe a little HCG , which will also raise your test, and then look into something to control E2 like Anastrozole/Arimidex .

Also, I think your diet can improve with the addition of more protein. Did your doctor determine why you had low "T"? Primary or secondary, or did he not go that far with you?

Tell him the pellets itch and wear off to fast. Dont seem eager about wanting to inject but more that you are willing to do that if it will work better for you.

Use what he says to use. If you are lucky after a while he will give you a script for 6 months and you will only use about 1/2 to 3/4 a vial a month then after 4+ months you have enough extra saved for a nice little cycle.

Hello, Thanks for the last 2 replies.

I went and he ordered a new lab test as expected. (I am glad I did not fast for 12 hrs for nothing).

He perscribed Test Cyp, for 6 months. I picked it up at CVS and felt thrilled. The pharmasist gave it to us/ 2 syringes. My wife works in the medical field, and she gave me the injection in my rt cheeck and it did not hurt at all.

I have been looking onling at all of the sites for Test Cyp, and to have it in my hand...from a pharmacy, LEGAL, wow....with insurance paying the tab, OMG! :-)

I am at work, and will post the exacts tomorow as far as the doseage he perscribed. I know its a low amount, and he said that after 4 weeks if it was not making me feel "alot better" to come back in and get the labs done again. He said I might have to go see a endocronologist in time. I have not got the results back yet (I went on WED) but will ask what the levels were, and if its primary or secondary.

He did not get into that, but I will find out. See how knowing what to ask makes a ton of difference?

I do know the scripts said X every 3-4 weeks, so me and my wife divided that number 4 times so I have less up and down, my "shot" bnight is Wednesday. He said I should stick with twice a mont, but could do it weekly if I felt like it, just as long as I stay withing his initial guidelines. I of course did not mention working out at all.

Like I said I will get the manufactureres name and the dioseages tomorow when I repost.

I am hoping I can get him to perscribe increased ammount over time... right now jus having "normal" test levels will greatly benefit me in general I think: ie, some slight effects in the gym, overall mood, bedroom, ect.

I am glad you guys are here, thank you....

Most prefer to pin twice a week to keep blood levels more steady. Every 2 weeks you will be on a roller coaster ride more than likely..

You could always tell the doctor your other half won't come near you if your prescribed the gel, tell the doc it freaks her out....plus you have young kids in the family or something along those lines and you're worried about them absorbing the gel. That's what I did, and the Doc prescribed injectable. In truth I do have very young children and didn't want to run the risk when he wanted to prescribe androgel .

The only way I think people on TRT influence their test level, is to not inject the full dose....in these cases they go back to the doc and complain that they are not feeling any benefit. They'll do another blood test and it usually shows low still...maybe then they up the dose. Dishonest, but effective.

Another thing, is if you have low endogenous testosterone , and then begin to inject 400mg of test, it's highly possible that you could begin to develop gyno. It's a shock to the system after so long being low. The doctors don't usually listen when you tell them you want an anti E as a precaution, so try and get some nolvadex and/or letro just in case.
