Just an interesting way to open up conversation. I already know the answer, but may be enlightening for some...........

Answer:
As you age and allow your muscles to atrophy, fast twitch muscle fiber can shrink down until it literally disappears. Slow twitch muscle fiber is less likely to atrophy at the same rate as you need this type for walking around, getting on and off the couch, picking up that fork to feed yourself. Eventually, you will change the ratio between slow and fast twitch muscle fiber. Strangely enough, after this happens, and resistance training is undertaken, it is the slow twitch muscle fiber that responds quickest and gains the most bulk, opposite of what happens when you are young.
Great question Times. I don't know the answer but i voted fast twitch.
haha...i just noticed some writing under your Answer: I can't make it out though. how the hell did you do that?
