Ok - How do you do this
Found out today from the heart doctor, I am not supposed to do cardio anymore. Heart won't slow down in rhythm....
So how do you get cardio exercise without doing cardio???
I can strength train, but not cardio... no treadmill nothing....

bizarre - second opinion?
my wife has occasional heart arrhythmia and she has the green light for cardio. are you constrained to staying below a particular heart rate? can you walk? can you spint?

walk yes, sprint... no

strange you can lift then... which can be like sprinting depending on the exercise and reps/weight.

I guess it has to do with duration my heart is beating faster or some crap... I am back in for tests on Tuesday...
Lifted last night... was fine... did cardio on Monday... heart didn't start acting right until about 3 am... which is a long time to lay in bed feeling like you just got done sprinting a marathon...
PVC is not deadly in most cases... just annoying as fvck

Have they run a stress echocardiogram or dobutamine stress test yet? Mentioned the possibility of an antiarrhythmic medication? Given you a target heart range to stay within until the condition/cause is identified?
These are among the list of this questions I would present to my cardiologist if the subjects aren't discussed.
Have you worn a holter monitor yet (usually a 24 hr. period)?
It sounds like this is in the early stages. Have a list of questions prepared for your cardiologist @ your next visit.
I've been there and know it can be overwhelming. Take notes if you need to. The more informed.you are, the less anxious you will be.

there is no answer.
ask your doctor what his advice is.
anyone here can tell you anything.
They are not responsible for you and don't know you. If you friggin go toes up and do the dying cockroach because of the treadmill, who is to blame? The board member that gave you bad advice, or you for listening to the bad advice?

Roman - right as always...
Going to talk to him about swimming... may not raise my heart as fast as treadmill will....
PVC is not usually fatal... supposedly up to 11% of the population has it....
Not worried about doing the dying cockroach just yet... at least not anymore...
I will also talk to him about fast walking...

My heart races just as much when I do heavy compound workouts as it does 30 minutes of fast paced cardio.
Hope things work out and maybe the diagnosis was off and it is something simple. Good luck triky!!

follow dr advice, bro but it would be prudent for dr to have you wear monitor and maybe approach the subject of a pacemaker/defibrillator implant if the meds route do not work out. Been paramedic and have seen many pts with pacemaker/defibrillators workout intensely. Good luck brother

Mate,
I would get all the tests done, and also get a second opinion!
Too many of my friends have died by not listening to good advice but also a lot of doctors live very unhealthy lifestyles and make terrible assumptions due to ignorance.
Find out the facts thens lets get you working!
Good luck,
John

Interesting question: Why are you interested in doing cardio in the first place? Simple fat-burning? Just curious. I lost my leg in 1997. I have done NO cardio since then. I don't run (used to run 3-5 miles every other day or so) All my workouts are weights or bodyweight. Last several years are just bodyweight and TRX suspension training. I eat like a pig! Don't drink much at all though. They bodyweight workouts have been enough to keep me lean though. I just keep the pace from movement to movement steady and constant. So...for me, the cardio has proven unnecessary. Blood pressure and blood work are all showing normal without it.
