Lowering cortisol !! How not to lose muscle during pct

    Hi guys.

I am about to finish my 2nd cycle and start PCT but
last time I lost an awful lot of muscle (and gained too much fat!) during the PCT.

I was wondering what one can take to lower cortisol, besides glutammine & eating a lot of whey and casein protein.

My pct is 1 month clomid +proviron .

IMO best things to do is eat a slow digestion source of protein+unsatured fats before bed and eat complex carbs for breakfast ever.

    Cortisol Control

Cytadren (aminoglutethimide) : This drug has the ability to reduce cortisol at higher doses (1000mg a day), and act as an AI at lower doses (250mg a day). The cortisol effect is shortlived if taken for a number of consecutive days. Can lower estrogen a lot, anbout 90%. The higher dose has a long list of sides. More effective as an AI.

Mirtazapine :This is used to lower cortisol. Even though it may be effective in cortisol control, Johan has pointed out that it may cause some phycological side effects, like making you feel like a zombie. Here is a pubmed abstract for is effects on cortisol levels, among other things.http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/...1&dopt=Abstract

Cytodyne (Phosphatidylserine) : This is also used to lower cortisol, but is only effective in lowering about 30%. There are other ingredients in Cytodyne than Phosphatidylserine. Phosphatidylserine is the only real proven ingredient to lower cortisol, or so ive gathered so far. Effective at 800mg a day of PS as an ingredient.

Relacore : This over the counter cocktail of herbs and vitamins and minerals chills me out, and takes the edge off. I think it may do this by mitigating cortisol levels in your body. You dont loose fat without diet and activity change, but it does kinda put on the brakes to fat gain, and chills me right out. Im highly energetic, even to the point of being jittery sometimes, so this works wonders for me.

Vitamin C: At doses of about 1.5 grams a day, can have a lowering effect on elevated cortisol, not to mention its other healthy effects.

I was under the impression that after cycling anabolics, training should be somewhat modified to keep cortisol production at manageable levels, while testosterone levels are returning to baseline. Anyone care to elaborate further on this?

Of course that could influence cortisol, since while on anabolics you can afford less rest days than when you're off.

I think it is true but how much work do you do in either case? I think it is very subjective

while off or on PCT I do 25 heavy sets per workout, 1 day in gym one day rest, days so total sets per week = 25(sets)*3.5(wo days/week) = 87.5 sets/week

while on I do 35 heavy sets per workout, 2 days in gym 1 day rest, so total sets per week = 35(sets)*4.6(wo days/week) = 161 sets/week

    what about you?

I'm gonna find out just as soon as I do my first test cycle in Aug. It'll be 250mg/wk for 12 wks. I'll just use my instincts to guide me during and after pct and go from there...

Your routine sounds like a good plan. I ussually do about 25sets during each gym session also, without being on.

Your routine sounds like a good plan. I usually do about 25sets during each gym session also (2 body parts), without being on.

Yes. I know that sounds lite by some standards here, but I feel it's enough for me for a first. Slow and steady gains are my plan. No dramatic changes.

I have to answer my own questionmno it says nothing about blocking cortisol in it's profile.

I've read in one of the stickies that CLEN could block cortisol since it's anabolic

I've read that cytadren suppresses testosterone production so It should be used with test and not during the PCT.....

sorry my question was PCT related
