    Clomid and acne

Anyone break out in odd places on clomid? I am getting acne on the back of my head under my hair??? And in between my chest and chin area, lower neck below the beard hair line and upper pec area.

    Weird.

I cant stand the acne i get in PCT. I get huge deep cystic acne at the hairline on the back of my head. They are the most painful acne i have ever experienced

Its not from the clomid, well, its a bit more complicated than that, but i can say it is not directly from the clomid.

When you finish your steroidal treatment, your hormone levels are fluctuating erratically, it is this imbalance in hormone levels that causes more sebum to be produced as testosterone and estrogen fluctuates. The increased sebum means more chance of pore blockage and hence acne.

The clomid, and hopefully an AI will help restore balance.

Yes i too know the feeling of cystic acne, it is very painful. Isotretinoin is an amazing drug to help.

Yes it is. I had bad acne for years and it only got worse when i would get off. I got a script for 6 months of it and havent had one zit since. Im in the middle of a cycle now. I cant wait to see if it did good enough to keep it away during PCT

Now i will say though the dose i was put on was harsh. I had severe cracked lips until i found Dr Dans Cortibalm (it was a lifesaver). I also had to wear lotion everyday and the Florida sun didnt help. Im pretty tan and never wear anything over SPF 10. Well on the accutane i was wearing 30 and getting burnt everytime.

Yeh i know how you feel. I am currently 2 months in and on 100mg a day, so 5x20mg tablets. I never got a flare up, but mentally im 'slowing' down, its hard to remember things and recall events, but emotionally im normal. This is my second time on roaccutane, and i never have a problem with dryness, i moisturize twice a day and use lip balm when needed. Not a problem. But like you i also got burned very easily.

120 mg a day for 6 months for me. 2 weeks in my lips were bleeding. But i found that chapstick and never had another problem. Never had any emotional issues but i did notice memory troubles also.

Noles and Mr Rose...I am in a similar situation regarding acne. Had problems with it when I was younger, flaired up last year due to stress and I went on a 5 month 60mg a day cycle of accutane from about Sept to end of Jan. Acne completely disappeared, not even on a cycle did it come back. Now I am getting acne right around the bottom of my hairline on the back of my head and chest area. Nothing major but annoying as hell.

Good info Mr Rose, I guess I just have to wait it out I am almost 2 weeks in right now and clomid works pretty fast so hopefully it is temporary with the hormone levels and what not.

Noles I have never seen someone on 120mg a day what kind of accutane is it??Is it a weaker generic version, there are some of those out there. I could not handle 80mg....no idea how you are dealing with freaking 120 that is insane your lips must feel like they are going to peel off.

No my doctor prescribes it by bodyweight which is the recommended protocol and i had had bad cystic acne all over my back since i was 14. So i was around 260 while on it
