    Mixing HCG. Why use a different vial?

    I've seen videos on how to mix HCG (such as this one) and they use a new vial to store the mixed HCG in. Whats up with that? Why not just use the vial the HCG powder came in? Like inject the Bac water into the vial with the HCG powder and call it a day. Anyone on this? Is it ok to do that?

    Most brands of HCG use ampoules, not vials with rubber stopper.

    In that video they used 5ml of solvent for a ratio of 1000IU/ml.

    The smaller vials that most hcg comes stored in hold a max of 3.5ml.

    That's why she transferred everything into a 10ml vial.

    I don't know why she did that, women often like to make things more difficult for no reason.
    Livinlean and Dankoo like this.

    So if my 5000IU hCG powder comes in a vial...and the vial can only hold 3.5ml of solvent like you said...and i want to inject, lets say, 250IU every week, in 0.5ml dosing...can i just inject the 2ml bac water straight into the vial the hCG power came in and store it...without having to transfer everything into a sterile vial like all instructions tell you to do?? Besides dosing reasons, is there any other purpose for storing the hCG in a new sterile vial??

    Yes, you can reconstitut and store the hcg in the same vile it was packaged.

    The only reason to transfer hcg into a new vial is for dosing reasons.

    Your algebra is incorrect.

    5,000IU of hcg diluted with 2ml of bacteriostatic water will not have a concentration ratio of 250IU/0.5ml.

    5,000IU diluted with 2ml of solvent will have a concentration of 250IU/0.1ml.

    ...

    To reconstitut hcg use the rule of three to find your dosage:

    (5,000IU/2ml)=(250IU/x)

    Cross multiply:

    500IU*ml=5,000IU*x

    Solve for x by dividing:

    x=0.1ml

    Then use chain link conversion to convert units:

    0.1ml=10units

    0.1ml*(10units/0.1ml)=10units

    Therefore:

    5,000IU diluted with 2ml of solvent will have a concentration of 250IU per 0.1ml or 10units on a slin pin.
