with capsules it's impossible to know what's in them by looking at a pic, a lab could put almost any powder in there.

They could be anything, but as long as you trust your source you should be good to go.
Those are just the standard home-made caps.
If it's your friend who is capping his own or whatever, then it should be legit. (if trustworthy)
