Im the strongest man in the world

I know this is corny but I wanted everybody to know I finally hit a 300lbs bench press Ive been lifting for 5 years this month I started with a weight loss program, then I fell in love with lifting etc.. I went from a 135lb bench to 300lbs as of today. 5 years ago I thought I would have accomplished more but it takes time.

Yeah, tell us your stats first, than I'll see if I'm impressed. 300lbs is a lot of weight for anyone though, unless you weight in excess of 250lbs. I'm more impressed with a 300lb bench from someone that weighs in the 140 to 180lb range. Like me I did 300lbs at 19 years old and weighed 148lbs. So that's more than twice the body weight, which is hella impressive. I'm still proud of that moment.

I'm impressed regardless of stats. The point is that one of our fellow members set a new personal best. He felt proud enough of it to post it here (even though it might be less impressive than that of some rather gifted lifters like yourself). I don't give a rat's ass how much weight somebody moves....as long as they are improving and setting NPB's....I am proud of them.

BTW, that is quite impressive 9000rpm...you should be proud.

Mattman, keep grinding it out. The 300 mark is a big step. If you would like, post your workout in the workout forum, and see if the guys can give you any help on your w/o. You might find that there is something very minor holding you back for greater gains.

Props to you mattman! You have more than doubled your bench and that in itself is a great feeling.

Absolutely, this is a great accomplishment for you. Keep up the good work and it becomes a lifestyle that you can't live without. It's a hell of a lot better to spend an hour in the gym each day than being glued to a reality television show or something stupid like watching one of the nighttime soaps. I'm 39 years old, have been lifting for over 20 years, and even though I am only now getting to 475 RAW, the past 20 years have been great. Someone once told me that they wouldn't lift because then they would have to do it forever or they would lose it. Yeah so what.... and we'll keep looking like this every day and they will never have a single day like it. Keep it up...

I take it you have not being doing some form of a strength training program?

Anyway, I'm happy for you that you reached one of your goals.. you are now in a small group of people who can bench 300lbs... Keep at it, get on a good program, and maybel you'll soon be hitting 400lbs...

then from 400 you shoot for 500lbs. on and onit never stops, if you love this, you actually can't stop, you only want to get better and stronger! congrats, 300 is a milestone for anyone, those who are stronger than you had to pass this milestone as well, and it is a worthy accomplishment, aren't to many average joes who can throw that weight around. keep moving forward, 315 is next!

Congrats man. 300 has been a goal of mine but I have been stuck hovering over 260lbs for the last 6 months (mainly because I cut from 215 to 180). I'm so much happier with the way I look, but the 300lb bench isn't any closer. I'm 20, btw.
