    by the WHEY

    i heard taking WHEY protein before lifting is useless because your body uses it as fuel rather than help building muscle.

    IS THIS TRUE?

    your supposed to take it afterwards so that your muscles can quickly absorb the protein.

    Not useless at all. You are trying to maintain a positive nitrogen balance in order to promote growth. Therefore, your protein consumption needs to even throughout the day, plus PWO nutrition that was aforementioned. But if your preworkout meal consists of whey, by all means, take it.
