Hopefully someone here is from Florida that can lead you to where you want to be. I f not search the net maybe or just look up some meets in your area and go down and check them out. Meets are usually put on by gyms in that area and there will be plenty of people to ask where they train. Just try to refrain from asking them before they lift etc...

Visit the college closest to you, they should have a strength & conditioning coach who should be competent enough to help you out.

Look for some one who is CSCS certified, that would be your best bet

Man I wish I lived in your area, I would love to help you out. I train a group of young lifters here in Texas. I have my certification w/ NSCA, CSCS, plus I have a degree in Kinesiology w/ emphasis in Human Performance. Feel free to PM me if ever you have any questions. I'll give you what advice I can. If you're looking for someone make sure they are well qualified though. I train in so many gyms where I see these "Personal Trainers" that are complete and total idiots. I mean I can't believe people are paying their hard earned money to have these people train them. I guess they just don't know any better. 99% of basic personal trainers you find have some "Weekend" certification that anyone on the street can get. Seriously. All you have to do is a weekend course that takes about 16 hours. They take this really basic test that anyone that knows basic lifting could pass and they give them their license. I've seen this test. I guarantee you could pass it rightnow without even going to the little seminar. They pass everyone because these people pay to take the course. On the other hand, when you study for your CSCS (Certified Strenght and Conditioning Specialist) test or anything put out by the NSCA (National Strength & Conditioning Association) it is tough. You have to spend months studying for these exams. I didn't even attempt to do this until I finished my degree. These test are extremely hard. They are like taking the SAT for college. These test are about 4 hours in length. And you better know your stuff or you will fail. Some of the hardest test I've ever taken. Look for those certifications and you will find someone who knows what they're talking about.
