im goin 242 next meet and im at 250 right now... i am just cutting out carbs like you but i am goin to try to get down to 248 then shed some water weight like a day or 2 before the meet....I would cut out your sodium intake like 5-7 days before your meet so you dont hold in water and say your meet is saturday i would do it like this

Thursday- half gallon of water, very little carbs 30 grams or so
Friday- 20 oz of water no carbs and very very low sodium
    Saturday- nothing til weigh-ins

6 weeks out you have plenty of time IMO... no cheating on the diet is really all you can do... unless you resort to chemical methods... I'm about 8 weeks out from Sr. Nationals and was @ 245, than all of a sudden last week the flu from hell knocked 10lbs. right off me... it sux! I'm looking at it as a blessing in disguise due to the fact I couldn't train for a week... man am I well rested

ya... I am with you on this one... I dropped weight for my first and second meet and decided very early in my lifting career that it just wasn't for me! I just felt like I was working too hard to lose weight and really thinking about it I decided it was really the opposite of what I want to accomplish... just always want to get bigger not smaller!
