Video of his 300kg bench, 320kg miss, (due to uneven lockout)
390kg deadlift and 455kg deadlift.
i cant get the link to work!!! do you know what he squated?
Thats a lot of weight.
The site was down briefly today, should work now.Originally Posted by Doc.Sust

that is just sick!!!
smart move. i am glad he got the 1000 before bennidikt did!Originally Posted by Nytol
I agree. It is nice to see Bolton do it first. I have a funny feeling that seeing Bolton get 1000 lbs is going to stir up Benedikt and we might be looking at a new record soon. That's the funny thing a bout powerlifting, a record will look untouchable, but once you have a couple of iron maniacs close to it they just keep pushing each other. Look at the Bench. A couple of years ago people would have laughed, now Gene has 1003, then Mendy gets 1005, Gene tries 1015 and Mendy tries 1035! "It is the ego that drives us." lolOriginally Posted by Doc.Sust
very true, the leap in the bench in the past few years also has some balme on the new "super bench shirts" of today i am sure if anthony clark had acess to these shirts in his prime, he would have been in the ball park with gene and scott,Originally Posted by Fallen_Angel
as of today, people are now questioning if bolotn was fully locked out in the dead, what a bunch of crap, one judge gave him a red, but the other 2 gave him a white, to whites and one red is good enough, lift counts end of story!!
That issue about not being locked out is CRAP !

Rumors start when either people feel their own inadequacies as a result of others' achievements, when people are plain miserable or don't know what they are talking about. I think the first and the theird might apply here. I have been told that some judges, regardless of situation and federation base the "goodness" of a deadlift lockout on whether the shoulder pull back toward the spine at the end of the lift. This is silly of course. That is my only guess as to why Bolton got a red light. Check that, that is my only guess without suggesting the judge didn't like Bolton, which, I am sure, we have all had at one point or another... you know...that judge you just rubbed the wrong way. Insane lift.Originally Posted by Doc.Sust
About Anthony Clark...he was alway my favorite powerlifter. It bothers me that his records are meaningless now. As a kid, Clark was the one who moved my interests from lifting weights to powerlifting. I think it is evident that when a lifter like Clark is forgotten so quickly, it just points to gear destroying our sport, so that a few other lifter can have their ego inflated, and sometimes, unrightfully so. Pray that gear does not propell the deadlift, because Bolton will also be forgotten.
or the judge could have just been wrong, i have judged a few meets,i have messed up a call here or there(only difference is when i mess up a call it is always in the lifters favor!) believe it or not judges can be wrong, really wrong!Originally Posted by Fallen_Angel
i think we are safe on the deadlift for now. nobody forgets guys like clark, coan or kirk, but the young kids in our sport cant appreciate what they did in their time because they were to youngto remeber what major accomplishments these guys did with the almost useless equipmentOriginally Posted by Fallen_Angel
man thats so nuts. I wish I could break 400 =(
There was indeed some suspect judging, my friend competed in the WPC, and I have seen the videos of his squat and DL, and they were perfect, but he got red lighted on 2 out of 3.Originally Posted by Doc.Sust
I dont know if the same judges did the WPO, but even Louie Simmons said to him that he got shafted with those calls.
Andy is selling signed Inzer T shirts, to comemorate his deadlift, and help fund his trip to the WPO finals at the Arnold next year.

yeah usualy the WPO AND THE WPC have some of the friedndliest judging around. i am suprised they were being strict.
They were not being as strict with the US and Ukrain lifters apparently, if you look on the site I linked, and go to Movie clips, 'Justin @ WPC', you can see the vids, they look perfect to me.Originally Posted by Doc.Sust
It will come, so long as you are dedicated and develop your understanding of the Theory of Strength Training. The thing to be careful of is not letting it consume you. It's the point of no return. It is where you would give up everything to be the best...actually just a chance to be the best. Your 4 years younger than I am, so if you do what I suggested, theres no reason you can't break 600 (and then some) in the time to come. This is a sport of men, that is for sure. The length of dedication required to make it to where some guys are on this forum is amazing. Training through the teens, twenties and thirties, and gettign paid nothing.
