    Lat work

    1) I love lats, I wish I had wings like Ronnie Coleman, but I have a question dealing with lats & powerlifting:

I am just curious, what are lats good for in powerlifting. I see programs with lat work in them, I always thought they were for rowing exercises, I guess bench is the opposite of a row.

So what do lats do? I've heard they are used in bench, just wondering what part do they help with? And if I were to include lat work in my routine should I put in chin-ups, barbell rows, or both?

    Thanks for the help guys.
