Bench Shirt Question
What shirt would you recommend for someone that is just getting into powerlifting? I have a friend that is just getting started. His raw bench is 375lb @ 210. I was thinking the Titan F6 or Fury. Any help would be appreciated.

Inzer rage, titan fury, or f-6 are all good. I would suggest that you buy at least one training shirt that is looser or somewhat weaker to train in. I have good success training one day a week in a shirt and I use an Inzer HD high performance that is old and stretched out at first. Then switch to an old F-6 finally spending my last 3-4 weeks training in my competition shirt. Of course I am progressively lifting heavier and heavier all that time. This works well for me and the grooves of the shirts are close enough for me that I have no problems. Get a training fit or meet fit for your first shirt and then when you are ready specify a competition fit. Hope that helps. Incidentially I prefer the Rage.

Re: Bad way to train
Hmm. I don't know who you train with but this works very well for some of the top benchers in the world. You can still train the groove of your competition shirt the last 4-6 weeks but using progressively tighter shirts and more weight will train, a relatively inexperienced shirt lifter like this guy says he is, in getting used to the shirts and also train his CNS and stabalizer muscles in preparation for the heavier weights he will be able to lift. Works for me anyway although I am not anything but an average bencher.
