    Ass to the Grass

What is everyone's opinion on how deep to go on squat?
I am pretty flexible, and can go down to a point where my ass is to my ankles, and my feet are still flat on the ground.... So for 5 weeks, I usually do squat training with a wide stance, and just go to parallel, then for 5 weeks I use a standard stance, and go all the way down....
I do not use knee wraps, and I squat barefoot.
I have heard that going that deep, or squating heavy without wraps is bad for your knees, but I have not had any knee problems.... \

What are some opinions from you guys?

I go parallel or just slightly lower and do not use wraps either. I probably should, but we all are stubborn about certain things. Squats are hard on the knees period so, basically it's up to you how far down, or should I use leg wraps? They're your knees...

I actually prefer using hack squat machine vs. reg squats

Hack squats are by no means a replacement to conventional back squats. Also, barbell hack squats IMO are much better than the machine hack squats.

I go as deep as I can without feeling really weird ya know?! I probably go down all the way. Not using knee wraps will not hurt you bro. I never did either. I added in an extra set though, and now I do. I go 135 8, 225 8, 315 8, 405 8, all with no wraps, then 495 for 7-8 wrapped. It just, in my head, with 500, seems logical to wrap being that I go way down. That was the weight that did it. It never hurt me, just seemed logical. Also, you do get a bit of an extra boost with the wraps, and I like that with that heavy set. You sound pretty ate up man. that's great. Squatting barefoot.........interesting man, never done that.

Well, I am flat footed, so I do not need any kind of arch support... so when I am barefoot, I feel the most stable. I notice if I use sneakers, the soul seems to "roll" or "shift", and I don't want to spend over 100 dollars on some inzer "power shoes"

Ihave used chucks before, and didn't like them. They do have a solid soul, but I don't like the hard soul matched with a loose cloth shoe. Besides, I don't like having to change out stuff to do certain lifts. Like if I am doing squat, I don't want to have to worry about remembering to bring the right shoes for it.
