    225lbs on bench REP CONTEST

What is the best way to prepare for doing MAXIMUM REPS with 225lbs on bench press.

Right now I can do this weight around 12 TIMES.

If I have only 5 weeks to get more reps with 225lbs for a contest with some colleagues...

what would you say is the best way to prepare myself specifically for this competition in the gym?

maybe incorporate some endurance training, for example put 60-70 percent of your 10 rep max on bar and do as close to 40 reps as possible non assisted. do this once or twice a week on top of what your doing and your reps should go up slightly.

Practice at 235. Then on gameday, you'll be ready.

NEGs man NEGs.... That will not help your lift, but shit the lift isnt usually the hard part the getting weak letting the weight come down slow. You can drastically increase your reps but doing negitives of heavier weight. Have a good spotter we dont want you to tear something pushing it....

Add mini bands to 225-245lbs for reps..The bands will deff increase your rep endurance..You wont have to worry about cashing because the weight you will be using is nowhere near maximal..

Just my 16+ yrs of experiance Lifting for what its worth.
