Angry Wolvernine Open 2002 (Since Cubanito asked)

Meet did not go as I had planned.

    Squats:
420: Total joke, my left knee wrap started to come off in the hole, made no difference
475: Weight felt light, but I pitched backwards, Miss
475: Could not get the bar out of the racks. The Mono-Lift height was not lowered to my correct rack height before the bar was called loaded. I was under the bar for what seemed like a very long time, could not get the bar out the racks, and did not know why. After that long, I was mentally fried and did not take the attempt.

    Bench:
    275: (25lb PR) Smoke show
300: Missed it twice at lockout

    DL:
405: Not too bad, but not as fast as it should have been.
465: Missed it badly both times

I need more glute and tri/lockout work. Dave Tate was in the house on Saturday, and suggested I need to sit back more when I am squatting, bring up my glutes, and move my stance in a tad. In retrospect, we have not done as much glute work in the last year, which has led to my decline in Dl ability. As for the tri's, I did hit a meet PR bench, but I have along ways to go in terms of tricep development.

I would like to give a big "Thank you!" to Big Dog, Iceman, the members of this community who have helped me , and the APF Michigan: spotters, loaders and judges.

sorry bro I just wanted to know how you did.

It didn't seem all that bad as you were saying.

HEY at least you took your ass to a meet and put up the numbers that you speak of not like all those COMP bullshiters.

    Hey bro,

Meets are where you learn what to fix. You will continue to improve!

Erm, Irish is right. It sounds like you know what areas you need to work on. Meets are great for shinning the light on stuff we over looked. Congrats on the bench PR. Time to regroup. Train hard!

Regrouping is done, training (& growing into a 275'er) has resumed. Vengance will be mine in July 2003!
