    ? For Doc

I was reading the subject you put on the forum, Andy Bolton's 3 lift program. I have some questions on the section you put in there about the deadlift training he did to prepare himself for pulling 1003lbs. 1st questions is when doing this deadlift training by this program or the program used for 700 lbs what percentage do you use and what weight do youget the percentage of? Like if I want to pull 600lbs after the 8 week cycle would I use the percentage of 600 or the percentage of my last max that I did at a meet? 2nd question is, this cycle is am I reading it correctly, deadlift each week or is this setup for pulling every other week? I think this is the last question on the last box you have numbers that look like percentages, is this the percentages you use each week? You have 13 percentages and only 8 week training cycle. Or is the percentages used for that week of pulling?

set your goal max to what you want to get being reasonable.

    dead every wk

the reason there are more percentages than there are wks is that there are multiple lifts with different percentages done on each day

for instance , lets pretend wk three of andys routine was you pull 405x5 500x5 550 X5 600 3 650x3. right there you have 5 different lifts, so 5 different percentages

I might be thinking into it to much. So say my dead max right now is 525. Next meet I want a set goal of say 575. The first week I work up to 65% of 575?

figure out the percentages the way it is explained and you are good to go. a 50 lb jump may be too much to shoot for. 30lbs at most. 50 is possible but not all the time. if you feel you can do 50, than go for it. you know your body better than anyone
