    Competition

Just wanted some advice. I don't follow a strict powerlifting routine but more body-powerlifting or something.

I have a deadlifting competition march 14 and june 6 (just found out about it today) lol I'm ready as I'll ever be but wanted some tips....

My diet is very strict right now because I'm slowly dropping BF.

Anyhow, my question, I have 3 wks, should I deadlift once every week but keep it light? Also, should I have a carb up day the day before with good carbs? I lower my cals during the weekend and am currently a bit under maintenance on workout days.

Let me know any advice, thanks guys!

Definitely carb up before meet. You can try CKD with carb up days right before meet, this can perfectly fit your goals, lose fat and be strong at the meet day.

just thought I'd let you guys know how I did.

Placed 3rd overall....not bad for my first comp.

They did a bodyweight to how much you lifted ratio which was interesting.

    Weighed in at 251.

    First pull 500...easy

    second pull 585

    third pull 635

Probably could have pulled between 650-660

Great comp overall, received a trophy now just training for the pride june 6

    Thanks for your help everyone!

ya, the comp. offered deads and bench. Not a good bencher so just stuck to deads

You going to try a do a raw meet? If so just dive right in to a push-pull comp., you will get hooked. All is competitive obviously, however most meets are super positive environments, everyone just wants to see you break your prs.

    1 chicken sandwich about 9:15am
weigh in at 10...wasn't too worried about dropping weight
turkey sandwich extra meat around 1:15
    lifted at 2

I would think that would tend to favour the lighter guys, but you're pretty heavy and did well. Nice work!
