    Question for Doc.Sust and/or other Seasoned P-Lifters

I'm curious what your big three numbers were when you first started, then what they were after a year of training, and then again after you started juicing.

I'm trying to get some idea of what I can expect as I continue training.

    Thanks

You could do that kind of weight at 15 years old, when you before you ever picked up a weight of any kind? Of course, 5'8 180 is a stout 15 year old. I doubt I could have benched the bar at 15.

Thanks - that's exactly the kind of info I'm after. Your press started out (and still is) hella-strong.

First meet was a Bench only meet. I benched 265 and took 4th. I was 14 years of age, the year was 1975. I recently squatted 805 but best meet lift is 755. I Benched 602.5. I have pulled 800 several times. 772 is my best contest lift. 2040 is my best meet total.

Did my first meet at 16 in high school. I benched 275, squatted 440, and pulled 505. I weighed 217lbs at the time of course completely natural. I didn't start juicing until I was 28. My best in contest are 570 bench, squat 750 and pulled ***. I guess it wont let me type in seven hundred eighty pounds. lOL!

everybody starts somewhere, don't judge yourself by others.. i feel the biggest problem people have with gaining strength is they judge themself on others instead working on what they can do and building

As the saying goes, everyone's max bench press was the 45 lb bar at some point in their life..ha. I started lifting in middle school for football, think my bench max was like 55 or 65 lbs back then

i cant remember, it has been sooooo long. my original lifts when i started when i was 15 were low. i think i squated 135 and benched 100, i dint deadlift then. dont compare your numbers to others yet, just get going and make some gains

    Thanks for the advice all.

I am trying to get a realistic expectation of where I can end up.

Alright I think I can help in this thread…
I have been interested in PL for over 2 years but I have been only training consistently for just a little over a year. I have always enjoyed lifting so I came into PL training with some strength: bench: 315lbs, dead: 365lbs and squat 325lbs all raw lifts.

After a year of lifting and 2 meets I now hit bench: 425lbs dead: 500lbs and squat 500lbs all raw lifts.

All my gains have been natural with diet and training techniques and I am an old man too at 37 years old. I did do a cycle many years ago but this was before I trained as a PLer. What’s funny is I am stronger now as a PLer than when I did a cycle about 5 years ago.

I think with proper training & diet you can make huge gains in PL… it just takes a lot of dedication but I love it and haven’t looked back at all. I can’t wait until all my numbers are in the 600ish range…

    I’m also 6’ 1” tall and when I started I weighed 245lbs.

^Those are impressive numbers, especially for being natural - especially the bench.
