Thread: kettlebell size

    kettlebell size

    Can someone give me a recommendation as to which kettlebell size i should purchase...i don't have access to any, so i can't try them out...if i normally snatch a 75-80lb dumbell for 5, would i do the same with a kettlebell?...i press about the same that i snatch btw

    Clearly you will need more than 1. Believe me, if you are going to teach yourself - via youtube videos, etc, then start light to learn the technique. Based on your strength, probably a 40lber would be about as heavy as I would recommend - maybe lighter. Going heavier you will smash the shit out of the back of your wrist.
    Get a KB with a thicker grip - probably around 1.5" diameter, and no knurling. Knurling will tear the shit out of your hands.

    no thats way too light...my local sports authority has them that go up to 40lbs, and the intensity of my exercises would be much too low...my technique is fine, i use to oly lift, and i've been doing traditional kettlebell exercises with dumbells now for a while

    Oh, to me, you made it sound like you've never tried them. I don't really understand the point of your post if you've tried kettlebells & you used to oly lift. You probably know the answer then as to what you need to buy.

    I'd prolly start with a 16kg and just go up from there.
