    Powerlifting diet?

I am curious what kind of diets the powerlifters here use. I am under the strong assumption that the diet section is mainly meant for BB'ers. I asked a for a powerlifting diet before in the diet section, and got a basic answer of "they are not as finiky as bb'ers". Which was fine at the time. But since I'm about to start my first cycle, I'd like some more indepth answers.

    So I am asking here.

What kind of protein to weight ratio do you guys tend to use while on a cycle. I'm looking to gain about 13 lbs of muscle (I'm currently 207, and I'd like to get into the 220 weight class). With this in mind, what kind of diet would you guys run calorie-wise and protein/fat/carb-wise?

I know diet questions should go to diet section, but like I said, I tried it there and did not get much, so i figured I'd go to the source

    Thanks in advance.

    age 28
    height 5'11"
    weight 207lbs
bf 18-19% (i'm losing it pretty quickly, while still keeping weight, aiming for 12-15%)

2 grams of protein per lb of body weight is a good start. Frankly, just pound food.

really? so even powerlifters do the 2grms/lb?

I'm having a hard time even getting in ~1.6 grms/lb lol. Eating this amount or more, tends to destroy my stomach (i.e i'm on the toilet 4 times a day lmfao).

How about maintenance diet? still 2grms/lb? or do yah trim it down?

i would say .75-1.5 grams of protien per pound .... its all based on your diet though.. if you are cuting fat and carbs out then you need more protien then if you are just anything..

personally i only get about 150-200grams a day. thats a good range for me. and i'm 215lbs..

there is alot of factors, but i would generally say u need to at least get .75 but getting past 1 is good.. just judge it on how u feel, your body and what other stuff is in your diet besides protien

It all depends on you… There are some powerlifters who eat clean and look good and then there are those powerlifters who eat everything and look like blobs but are stronger than any BB could imagine being. But if you want to be strong you’re going to have to eat. I like to take in 2 grams of protein for every one lbs of lean body mass… good luck.
